Listen...do you want the short and sweet answer in just one sentence...
Anyone with half a brain that encourages consuming as little as 500 calories per day, should get their facts right.
Basically its saying...starvation and/or malnutrition is healthy for you?
You simply need to understand the dynamics and biochemistry behind how your metabolism works...
Heidi Diaz, the creator of the Kimkins diet plan perhaps has a hidden agenda or heartfelt mission to agressively promote an extreme diet.
Heidi says: Quote "its a safe and effective diet plan"
And that my friend...is very dangerous.
Why is it dangerous?
Frankly, you want to lose weight without the serious health problems...
Extremely low calorie diets deprive your body of vital nutrients and essential fats, causing your body to enter starvation mode...
Your metabolism grinds to a screaming stop!
Yeah, I said screaming STOP because it's a natural survival instinct, your body stores calories you consume to keep you from starving to death.
Following a restrictive calorie controlled diet can have permanent side effects such as:
Heart palpitations
Fatigue
Hair loss
Loss of libido
Dizziness or fainting spells
And too many other stress related issues...
If you've followed similiar starvation diets in the past which caused metabolic damage as a result or losing weight too rapidly...
It can be extremely difficult for you to achieve any further fat loss.
The good news is, metabolic damage can be repaired by changing lifestyle.
Weight gain is a serious issue, no matter what your stage in life. It is a major health concern and can serve to shorten your life if it is not addressed.

thank you for writing about the dangers of the kimkins diet as discussed on http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/populardietplans/ and Kimmer as discussed on http://kimkinsdiettruth.wordpress.com/
This is a very dangerous woman preying on the desperation of overweight folk wanting that smaller body with minimal effeort and belieivng it is possible to buy it.
Thanks 2BIG, most diets work if followed to the 't' bearing in mind diets were originally designed as just a short term fat loss/weight loss tools, not a way of life...the problem is there's too many chefs in the kitchen these days.

"Kimkins" Diet Fraud Unmasked!
Say NO to Kimkins!
Hey Laura, excellent, and thanks for adding your valued feedback with additional resource, in a way i guess it'll teach kimkins a lesson, but yo-yo dieting continues!

Does it work? I always say that depends on your definition. My definition would satisfy these questions:
Can you stick to it?
Is it nutritionally adequate?
Does it preserve your muscles and internal organs?
Do you keep your hair?
Can you maintain the loss?
Nope. Kimkins doesn't work.
Thanks for helping to set the record straight about the diet - and the scam!
Hi OhYeahBabe, you've added a nice finishing touch, thanks for your valued feedback, you're much appreciated. Cheers, John
Thanks Highwaystar,
Thanks for the extreme good common sense. I particularly liked your statement "most diets work if followed to the 't' bearing in mind diets were originally designed as just a short term fat loss/weight loss tools".
It is true for anything in life - if you stick to something and believe in YOURSELF, you will see success.
All the best to all :-)
