Some of Thomas Kinkade's greatest paintings have centered around a Disney theme.

In his "Snow White Discovers the Cottage" painting from 2008, Kinkade captures much of the splendor from the 1937 Disney animated movie classic.

Basically, Kinkade depicts in his work the pivotal moment in the acclaimed film when Snow White stumbles upon the seven Dwarfs’ cottage in the forest.

Prior Kinkade works centering around Disney themes include "Disneyland 50th Anniversary" and "A New Day at the Cinderella Castle".

The American Film Institute ranks Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as the greatest animated film of all time!

Walt Disney spent an incredible $1.5 million on the three-year production of this film which was dubbed "Disney's Folly" by the Hollywood movie industry before its release.

Prior to Snow White, its first feature film, the Disney studio focused on production of animated short subjects in the Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphonies series.

Disney came out with the animated movie in 1937 and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs became a major box-office success. In fact, for a while, it was the highest-grossing film in American cinema history!

One other bit of Snow White trivia--Shirley Temple, Charlie Chaplain and many other of Hollywood's elite at that time gave the movie a standing ovation at its premiere.

Snow White Discovers the Cottage is the first of two Disney Dreams Collection works produced by Kinkade. The other is entitled "Pinocchio Wishes Upon A Star" released in 2009 in conjunction with the movie Pinocchio's 70th anniversary.
