Clean Extra Greasy Dishes With Soda

Sometimes when you have company over for dinner we can end up with particularly greasy batch of dishes. Don't worry! Kitchen MacGyver is on it! Don't use extra detergent! Would you believe too many suds will actually clog up the dishwasher. This can hinder cleaning your dishes.

Here is a quick and easy solution! Instead, sprinkle 1/2 cup of baking soda on the bottom of dishwasher before you turn it on. the soda will cut the grease in the first cycle, which will allow your detergent to work more effectively.

Another thing, it is a great tool for deodorizing your dishwasher. When it's empty, add one cup of soda to the dish washer. Run through the rinse cycle, then shut it off. Once it dries it should smell nice and fresh

How to get leftover messes off your pans

Wow! You had a great spaghetti supper and the sauce was great! Now you go out to the kitchen only to find the mess you left behind in the skillet!

Here is a way to make clean up a breeze!  All you need to do is fill the skillet with water, add 2 tablespoons of baking soda and reheat over medium heat on the stove.  Bring the water to a simmer and use a spatula to scrape off any cooked on food.  It should only take a few minutes to do.  Next, turn off the heat and let the pan cool off on the stove.  Then wash the food away without any fuss!
