While I was at CES 2008 in Las Vegas this year, I had a chance to see Kodak’s impressive booth. I asked them for the latest in their line of digital cameras, and I was introduced to three interesting digital cameras that I got to try out for myself.

EasyShare V1273

The EasyShare V1273 is a pure gem on Kodak’s EasyShare crown. This 12 megapixel camera has both optical image stabilization as well as blur reduction technology. It has a 3X zoom lens for clear prints that can be printed at an enormous size, up to 30 x 40 in.

Pictures aren’t the only thing the V1273 are capable of taking, for it can capture video footage in HD format. It uses an MPEG-4 compression to save on memory, and the user has the option of saving single frames. There are options for marking special spots in the video and you can even email the frames to family and friends.

Perhaps the most outstanding feature is the 3 inch touchscreen that serves as a viewer, editor, and organizer for the camera. It almost looks like Kodak has taken a page from the iPhone playbook with this type of interface.

The EasyShare V1273 should be available in March for a price of $279.95 USD.

Easyshare M1033

The Easyshare M1033 shares many similarities with the V1273. For example, the user can also make prints up to 30 x 40 inches, and it has the 3X optical zoom lens.

Unlike the V1273, the M1033 sports only 10 megapixels. It has a three-inch viewer upon the back, but there is no touchscreen option, unfortunately.

The M1033 share all the features of the V1273 when it comes to HD video capability. It uses MPEG-4 compression, can print multiple frames, and can mark special spots on the video with a bookmarking program.

The EasyShare M1033 should be available in April for a price of $199.95 USD.

Easyshare Z1085 IS

The Z1085 has 10 Megapixel capable with a 5x zoom and optical image stabilization technology.

One of the stand-out features of the Z1085 IS is the high ISO of up to 8,000. It can automatically adjust its ISO based on whatever lighting conditions.

The EasyShare Z1085 IS should be available in March for a price of $249.95 USD.

All three cameras have other EasyShare features including Smart Capture, Multimedia Slideshow, Face Detection Technology, as well as Text and Sound tagging.

All of these are available for the EasyShare HDTV dock, an optional accessory.
