Kolkata Knight Riders

Today a new chapter will open in Indian Cricket History and aptly, two players who have done the most for Indian cricket in recent times, Rahul Dravid and Saurav Ganguly, will be out there in the spotlight for the toss at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Probably the most hyped team of the Premier League, thanks to the Shahrukh khan association. They have as their captain the former Indian Captain Saurav Ganguly. Whether Ganguly is suitable for the T20 version will be seen today as he faces off against old friendfoe Rahul Dravid. Also in the team is the redoubtable Ricky Ponting who will by necessity have to play second fiddle (or is it third fiddle since Shahrukh must have his say!) to Sourav Ganguly. There is Chris Gayle in the Kolkata Team too and who doesnt know his batting prowess! David Hussey with a huge Twenty20 pedigree, Ishant Sharma and Brendon Mc Cullum ar the other players to look out for.

Some other Knight Riders information. Owners of the franchisee are Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Jai Mehta her husband. The franchisee cost is $75.09 mn.

Bangalore Royal Challengers

Rahul Dravid is the captain and the next most expensive player in the Challengers is Jacques Kallis. You might be forgiven for thinking, spectators will be more interested in Katrina Kaif, the brand ambassador! However, with their vast experience, Dravid and Kallis still make a formidable duo, with Chanderpaul. Then they have Misbah too though he wont be in the first game. There's Mark Boucher and Zaheer Kahn in the Royal Challengers team while Kumble wont be playing the first game. This Vijay Mallya owned franchisee is the second most expensive after Mumbai. Icon and captain is Rahul Dravid.
