Pet Food Danger Gauge 70% - Dangerous and Toxic To Pets

Healthy dog foods do not include needless grains and other pet health damaging ingredients.

Chicken Fat, Cod Liver Oil - used to encourage a pet to eat ingredients the pet would not normally eat.

Beet pulp is another cheap filler used by pet food companies. "Beet Pulp" sounds good, doesn't it? Well it's not. Just because Grandma told us we had to eat our beets as kids doesn't mean it is good for our dogs. Grandma didn't take the nutrients out of the beet and leave us just the dried fiber to eat, did she? Beet pulp is junk.

Brewer's rice and brewer's dried yeast are by-products of beer production. There you go, your little pet gets what is left over after a beer run, the stuff not fit for human consumption.

Milk products should not be given to pets past weaning age.

Fermentation Products - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Sugars are the common substrate of fermentation, and typical examples of fermentation products are ethanol, lactic acid, and hydrogen. However, more exotic compounds can be produced by fermentation, such as butyric acid and acetone. Yeast carries out fermentation in the production of ethanol in beers, wines and other alcoholic drinks, along with the production of large quantities of carbon dioxide.

Alcoholic beverages can cause the same damage to an animal's liver and brain as they cause in humans. But the effects can be deadly on animals since they are much smaller than us. The smaller the animal, the more deadly the effects can be. Even a small amount of alcohol may cause vomiting and damage the liver and brain.

Potassium Chloride - used as the third of a three drug combination in judicial execution through lethal injection and used for making fertilizer.

Salt should not be added to a pet's diet.

Sodium selenite is mainly used in the manufacture of colorless glass - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Rice - responsible for the 2007 pet food recalls and has no value in a pet's diet. Used by companies as a filler.

Sadly, your review of Kumpi Pet Foods are laughable. It is not based on sound science but on speculation and scare tactics. I've seen the positive results of feeding this food to my dogs and there is NOTHING TOXIC or DANGEROUS in this food. In fact, this food HAS NEVER been recalled. Rice and Rice Flour are two different things. Rice had nothing to do with the pet food recall. Amazing how anyone can write something online and make it sound "smart" when it is really "whack!" It would be good if you could make good recommendations to people but sadly after readying this horrid and unscientific review, I could certainly not recommend your advice.

Correction: It was RICE PROTEIN CONCENTRATE and NOT Rice or Rice Flour that was the issue. See http://www.thepetfoodlist.com for more information.

To Robert Davis,

You are exactly right in your post about Susan Peters advice. Research what "HubPages" is all about... I mean, completely research it. You will then understand why Susan's advice is so "whacked".

To Robert Davis,

I went to your website and I am so sorry for your loss of Lobo, I completely understand your pain as I have lost two beloved pets within six months. As a born-again christian believer, I have the hope of being reunited with them when my time comes to leave this earth. I look forward to being with all my furr-babies someday. To some people my comment sounds foolish (or whacked) but it is not. A truly heart-healing and comforting book to read on this subject is: "Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates" by Gary Kurz. It is not a book to make you feel better. Gary Kurz goes into detail explaining scripture on this topic. It's a wonderfully written book. Just thought this might help you as it helped me.

God Bless :o)

p.s. I attempted to post this comment on your website but, didn't want to sign up for a google account in order to do so. Hope you don't mind.
