Kung Fu Poet - Part 1 - Prologue
56Kung fu permeated me, permeates my every footstep, every thought: “balance, weight, gravity, motion.” I began to read in a stance, balanced, from the gut. My children said I was where I belonged. I went from there.
Poetry led me to a powerful woman who spun a spell. She is a singularity. I orbited the event horizon and still do. I belong here.
Somewhere deep inside, she must have known I could fly. I didn’t. We weren’t exactly holding hands then, as we climbed. But once on the precipice, the land laid out in green patchwork so far below, the wind whistling in the crags, I knew I was where I belonged.
As I flew, she went deeply into my heart – not purposely. It is a consequence neither of us understands. I am glad of it. I landed, knowing I can fly. But walking, I know that I belong, at least for now.
Ready to read now, again, I walk: every footstep balance, weight, gravity, motion. Present now, as if I am where I belong.
Reading, I connect twenty or a hundred souls in a room, undeniable. Listening, I am connected, I feel the connection. I am poetry as are you. I belong.

Follow the lotus path. Do by not doing. You honor me.
Wow! This has a lovely powerful tone, indeed! Poetry took me as well. The intensity is riviting with how a muse releases such divine passion, grace, and awareness, all in one. I am still flying from my recent works and not sure how to land. Or if I even want to.
Thank you for sharing another lovely piece!
Poetry is the kung fu of writing and speech. Thank you, Invictus! Enjoy the ride!
Awesome as always, love it :)
Thank you, EK. This looks like fun! :)
Very beautiful Jess......you never wrote about your "virtual weekend?"
I'm glad I can start with the first hub of your "Kung Fu Poet" Series!
Best, GPAGE
"My virtual weekend" sounds vaguely familiar. I was going to write about that, wasn't I. I actually wrote something about me and Barbara on vacation, but it was so wonderful and relaxing ... it was really boring. Nice for me, sleep aid for everybody else.
I'm pretty excited about "Kung Fu Poet". He's got a lot of possibilities. I like possibilities :)
Thanks, GPAGE
Possibilities lie with-in..yes
and you sure have got them Jess.
I liked what I jut got to read..
and OMG, no more rhyming in me, I plead!
---------------------------------------------
Man, not again!I don't know what seriously happens..
is there any diagnose for the problem I am suffering from?
I am, kind of getting irritated with the way i am writing..
It's a nice prologue to a wonderful beginning, story beginning but it's mysteriously disrupted at the end: I belong!
Jess, do you have any advise on how to land, and if so, is it possible to land gracefully?
Words Cocktail, do not vex yourself. We all enjoy the way you write :)
Hi there, Shamel! Thank you
Invictus, intend to land, flex your knees to absorb the impact, and visualize yourself as standing, relaxed, upon the earth. Thank you :)
Jess - That one was "different" with its mix of martial arts, space and time warps, plus a lifetime love affair. Quite a complex yet clear exposition. Gus
Thanks Gus! Be sure to check out part 2! :)
Flying with a powerful woman who puts a spell on you.
Oh Gawd...I know this is going to end badly.LOL
Just kidding you Jess.
It is a benevolent spell, DH. Thank you for your concern LOL :)
