Kunzite is a beautiful delicate pink colored ornamental stone with a hint of violet. This gem is the youngest in the spodumen family. This stone displays pleochroism which means depending on the angle the stone is viewed one can find multiple colors in the same stone. This stone was first discovered in California by a gemologist named George Frederick Kunz in 1902 and thereby named after him as Kunzite.
Because of its color pink which is symbolic of love, romance and marriage kunzite gemstone jewelry is an ideal gift to be given to a loved one signifying eternal love. Kunzite pendants are used as charms and are believed to bring in good luck and peace of mind.
