Kyle XY Comes to an Abrubt End.
65Series Finale of Kyle XY
Fans across the states watched Monday, March 16th as one of cables most beloved TV shows came to a screeching halt.
Filming finished on the final season of Kyle XY in August of 2008 with the cast and crew thinking of ideas for the next season. There thought processes had to cease when the call came sometime within the last two months saying that the show would be cancelled at the end of this season.
As the date of the impending end came closer ABC family aired previews with slogans such as "Final Season" and "Don't miss the final episodes of Kyle XY". Many fans on Cafe-mom and other forums thought it was a countdown to the season finale, and were upset when they found out it was going to be the series finale. All have hopes another network will pick up this beloved show. Even going as far as signing a petition to keep it going.
With the finale already past, fans have to wonder if the series will get any made-for-TV-movies in the future as the last 20 seconds of the finale proved to be a shocking ending. Don't worry, I won't spill the beans if you haven't seen it. I wouldn't want to ruin it for you.
The finale did pose these questions that have been building since the introduction of Jessi, a female version of Kyle. Such questions as is Kyle destine to be with Jessi or Amanda? Will Kyle ever tell Amanda who he really is? Will Declan and Lori ever be together for good or has their relationship flown the coop for good?
These types of questions would make for a great start to a TV movie. If they start now, they could have it ready by next year. Around the time a new season would start.
Until the answers come to us in a hoped for TV movie the fans of this show will have to wait for any and all news regarding Kyle XY. Over all it was a great series finale if they hadn't put in those last 20 seconds. We still would have had questions, but the last 20 seconds is what killed the ending. There are so many questions that come from those last 20 seconds.
