Kyriah Dee Biography
Kyriah Dee was born in Harare in 1987. She was greatly influenced by a very musical family, namely Afro Jazz perfomer and actress Prudence Katomeni, and gospel producer Jean Passion. Although she had a love for music she only began singing at age 16 when she joined the Victory Christian Fellowship Choir in Dublin Ireland. At age 17 she would occasionally lead praise and worship alongside artist Terence Ryan. She then bagan developing the gift of song writing namely, Sacrifice of Praise, and Let it be Done, combining ideas with musician Kay Vanroe and Marina Magoche. She was involved in the recording of Albums Sound of Victory as backing vocalist in 2005. In 2007 she assited in vocal arranging and backing vocals of the R3V album, birthed from the youth of Victory Christian Fellowship. She also had her first recorded song on the album ‘Hide Me Now’ produced by cousin Jean Passion. In the same year a few notable guests attended the church including Shayne Lynch from Boyzone who described her vocal as “beautiful and soothing”. Dan Willis Pastor of Lighthouse Church of all Nations and creator and Host of Emmy Award winning Gospel talent search Inspiration Sensation, did a workshop with the Sound of Victory choir, in which Kyriah Dee and Kay Vanroe impressed him with a cover of his version of “How Did you get here” originally done by Deborah Cox.
In August 2008 she decided to begin her music career, and hit the Studio with Yn Hitz, he produced the track Amazing Grace, which gained popularity amongst Zimbabwean online Radio stations. She met Jusa Dementor Kora Award Nominee, Zimbabwean producer, artists and CEO of A.B.R.A Records, (African Bred Recording Artists) Through A.B.R.A she got connected to Shayne Ndingz and featured on his track Missing You, and also co-wrote “Love Peace and Unity” with Flavour P.
Kyriah is hitting the studio recording tracks for her debut album. Under management of A.B.R.A, she is set, to work with the likes of producer Tony G of Baseline Studios, and A.B.R.A CEO Jusa Dementor, Drumdrillaz worldwide, and Jean Passion. Kyriah has a dream of breaking into the British Charts by the end of 2010 and Europe there after. The sky is the limit, for the African bred artist.
