Video Projectors - LCD
55Two things to remember: (1) you get what you pay for (2) If you want quality it is expensive.
Video projectors come in a rage of $99.00 to $4,000.00. If you try one of the cheap "toy" projectors be prepared to live in absolute blackness. The tiny LCD can't even manage being in a room with a candle.
The cheapest of the "real" projectors does better in low light but if you have a window it will have to be covered for daytime viewing. Even streetlights are a problem. Most will give you a decent picture of to six feet by four feet in a really dark room. these are pretty good for watching sporting events and movies. Bulb life is often limited to around 300 hours.
Moving up to the home theater range they even come with built in DVD players. Be mindful of connections - most will connect RCA jacks and computers but not CATV. Daytime viewing still requires shaded windows and limited direct lights. Picture quality will rival flat screen TV.
The best deals are to buy direct from China suppliers. Digital Galaxy of China is the manufacturer of many name-brand projectors. Their Dream-land projector can be order for around $400. plus $60.00 for shipping.
Be careful when buying used equipment on the internet. Bulbs are expensive and a used projector may not have many hours left on the bulb.
