Dear Mr. Posner:

Thank you for contacting me regarding climate change. I appreciate your taking the time to write and share your thoughts with me.
I share your concerns about the impact of climate change on the environment, our economy, and future generations, and I think it is fair to say that we are seeing a major shift in the climate change debate in the United States.
As Chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, I am working to make climate change legislation a top priority and I have consistently supported legislation to address this issue.
I am confident that President Obama’s new administration will make addressing climate change a priority, and I will keep your comments in mind as we work on climate change legislation in the Senate.
Again, thank you for writing. I hope you will continue to inform me of issues important to you and your community.

Senator Bingaman.

Please refrain from the use of patronizing, generic responses. Stop telling us what you think we want to hear and start fighting for what you know is right.
The futures of our children and grandchildren are on the line.
The lives and futures of all working Americans are at stake.
Please stop playing politics and make a stand. Make some of the sacrifices you have no qualms about seeing the rest of us make.
You must be prepared to fight. You must be prepared to struggle with the rest of America to restore the nation. Our government has been bought and you must help us take it back.
If you and your colleagues will not represent the people in the face of the corporatization and privatization of America, you condemn the nation to utter failure and collapse.
You will return us to the conditions that provoked the American Revolution in the first place.

Please allow me to provide you with an important history lesson:
