Let's Worship the LORD

What To Do When Trials Come

LIVING A LIFE OF WORSHIP

God created us to live a life of worship. Worship was never meant to just take place on a certain day or place. Nor was it ever meant to be orchestrated, contrived, nor artificial or unnatural in any way. Worship is not so much just about how one “feels.” It is demonstrating how we love, adore and appreciate God for who He is! True worship springs from a heart that is devoted to God. Yes, it is good to come together to worship the Lord as well.

We in our selves have no power. Via His indwelling Holy Spirit we access His power. Together if or when we are truly on one accord we can really “magnify” the Lord together! This really is why we come together to fellowship and worship. It is during this type of corporate or should I say community worship we nurture an atmosphere that welcomes the infilling presence of His Holy Spirit! As we sincerely worship and praise Him, we lift HIM UP! Together this is or can also become a means or catalyst when His Spirit draws unbelievers…

Always keep in mind God knows if our praise is authentic or not. Quite often it is more important to impress others rather than to sincerely express oneself to God. It really is not how things appear. God knows our hearts and our true intentions! Quite often some, not all, settle for a surface superficial worship and relationship with the Lord. Some know how to “do church” but do not really realize that God wants us to daily walk in the Truth of His Word. Many have learned to “ go to church,” then go right back to a quite worldly lifestyle. Please don’t get me wrong. You don’t have to have an unhappy, legalistic, rigid lifestyle in order to praise God. As believers it is very important to have an ever growing personal intimate relationship with the Lord. “The JOY of the Lord is our strength .” We can have fun and enjoy the things in life… His joy is not contingent on our circumstances.

As we grow spiritually as His children, His purpose should become our purpose. (I must warn you, you will be misunderstood and persecuted when you choose to please God rather than man. ) On the other hand God will give you the “peace that surpasses the understanding of man.” Our positions in life can change at any time.

You do not have to become discouraged or dismayed in life when a trial comes your way. If, or when you do, begin to seek fulfillment in knowing who you are in Jesus Christ. He knows the path through whatever you are going through… I assure you if you begin to sincerely praise God right where you are regardless of what is going on in your life you will begin to feel and see things differently. It is important to keep in mind that only God is SOVEREIGN! Meaning He is Supreme and more than able, everything is under HIS CONTROL! God will give you, "beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD." Isaiah 61 Keep in mind ALL of God’s promises are true!

We must sincerely make every effort to “walk in the Light” of God’s WORD. We are to let our lights shine in this world. It only takes a little light to dispel darkness. As His children no matter how young or old we are we need a Savior! God allows everyone the freedom to choose. Jesus came to earth, adorned in a body of sinless flesh and lived a sinless life, was crucified, died and was buried. He is the RESURRECTION!  He overcame death and overcome sin in the flesh for us to show us the WAY! Once we accept Him, then we are to “GO” forth living lives of worship and proclaiming the Gospel which is the “GOOD NEWS” of Jesus Christ to this world! You become like "a tree that is planted by the streams of water, which will yield  fruit in its season..." PSALMS 1 God is worthy of our praise!

The Fruit of HIS Spirit should also become increasingly evident in our daily lives as we grow spiritually. God delights in our praise! Spending time with God and meditating on His Word will help deepen your desire to give Him the Glory and “Authentic” worship He so richly deserves! Be encouraged “Consider it pure JOY, my brothers (sisters) whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your FAITH develops PERSERVERANCE! Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he (she) should ask GOD, who gives generously to ALL without finding fault, and it will be given …..” James 1

“Man looks on the outside, but God looks at the heart.” To GOD be the GLORY!

OK, God looks at the heart. It is also said that god is within the heart of each individual. However some people commit sin, giving trouble to others, act like barbarism, behave like animal. creat terror, on and on....

I  stated   that “God looks at the heart”   This passage of Scripture is found in  I Samuel  16.  It  exemplifies   how David was  God’s choice as king!  Saul who was  the current  king was tormented  by an evil spirit.  He was consumed by  his jealousy of David.    He created terror for David and anyone who opposed  him and acted like a barbarian as you stated.

I said “God looks at the heart” because although  Saul  was  still King his heart had become  hardened and he had been rejected by God.  David did not look like a king and  it was   assumed  by some  that he was the  least likely candidate  to become king...  Yet, David was chosen by God because  of  his heart ...   The  irony of it all was, the only  thing that calmed Saul  anxiety was when David played his harp!

I used this  classic illustration because often many look from a surface perspective and often form erroneous conclusions.    But when you really think  about it,  David  did  have power...  God who is Omniscient  meaning  all knowing KNOWS  our hearts.  He knows  us all through and through therefore we are completely transparent to Him…   Absolutely nothing gets by HIM!

Thank you Narayan your comments are welcomed.  Blessings

I can really tell that you just dont write or teach on Praise and Worship like so many do but you actually live it. So many times the people who preach and teach on praise and worship dont practice what they preach, but i can tell that is not the case with you. You have some wonderful hubs look like. I am going to take the time to read them. God bless and keep living for the Lord Jesus Christ!

Beautiful Hub and God indeed inhabits our praises. I heard someone say that when you have houses, cars, a nice cushy life - its so easy to Praise God, your voice would be the loudest in the Church, but when we are going through trials, its hard to praise God (when someone's going through illness or no source of income to support the family). That, he said, was a Sacrifice of Praise. Praising God when everything around seems hopeless.

Will be back to read more of your Hubs - they're like chapters in a book for me. :)

Yes He does! It is important that we learn to Praise God for who He is! Regardless as to what is happening are not happening at any given time; He is still worthy of our Praise! We can always praise Him for His Word, excellency, wisdom, power, goodness, greatness, majesty, mercy, loving kindness and most of all for His Son Jesus Christ and on and on…

"Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His Name.” Hebrews 13 Continually means to be persistent! In time He will supply, restore or give you whatever you need in His time. All His promises are true! Trials come to make us STRONG! Praise Him through the storm! “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

Thank you for stopping by you are always welcome!

What a wonderful Hub!!! The Three T's always strengthens our faith if we continue to stay in God's Word and His guiding Light. Trials, Testing, and Tribulations. We are Overcomers!! And I truly believe there are many tests sent our way by God, to see if we will be faithful servants and walk in His ways and truths, and live according to His commandments. God never Temps us, as temptation comes from Satan, father of all lies. But....I do believe that God sometimes allows those temptations to see if we will be obedient and not succumb to the things of the flesh. Each hurdle we conquer the more growth and wisdom we acquire. Wonderful Hub!! Peace n' Blessings!!!

Kim Garcia,

Thank you for your kind words. You are right the Lord never tempts us! But I agree He allows things to happen to see if we will "walk in His ways and truth." It is through trials we can become stronger and wiser, better and not bitter as we submit to His will and way as we go through them! We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus.

Thank You for visiting.

What an uplifting Hub, I really like the part where you talk about God knows if our worship is authentic. That really struck a chord. We all are let down by people and it is especially hurtful when it is within the church. We need to always look to Christ the author and finisher of our faith.

Thank you for writing this, it is a real blessing.

ConstructionHero,

I am glad that you have been uplifted! It is true God Knows! This is why its important to be REAL with Him! We need to be prayerful because there is so much going on inside and outside of the Church.

You are right "We need to look to Christ the Author and Finisher of our FAITH." You are Welcome! Thank you for visiting and please come again.

Blessings!
