Logitech Z Series & X Series Multimedia Speaker Systems

Greatly expanding its product line of speaker systems, Logitech recently added three new systems to each of its Z Series and X Series product lines. With the Z Series, Logitech targets music and gaming fans, whereas the company designed the X Series to appeal to price-driven consumers and gamers.

The Z-3 system is a two-satellite, one-subwoofer speaker system with a wood and aluminum exterior. The satellites feature cast-iron stands, and the subwoofer includes a separate bass level control. The system comes with a wired remote that includes a headphone jack, a master volume control, and a power control.

The Z-2200 is another 2.1 system, and it is THX certified. The Z-2200 satellites have a rotating pedestal for wall mounting or desk placement. The system comes with a wired remote with a headphone jack, an LCD (liquid-crystal display), and master volume, subwoofer volume, and power controls.

The Z-5300 system ($199.99) is a 5.1 system with THX certification that brings home-theater sound to game consoles and PCs. It features a dual-chamber subwoofer, a source selector switch to create surround sound from a variety of audio sources, and rotating satellite pedestals.

The X-620 system ($99.99) features six satellites (including a dedicated rear center satellite) and one subwoofer. The speakers include an onboard headphone jack, volume and bass level controls, and a source selector switch.

A 2.1 system, the X-220 ($49.95) features a headphone jack and volume controls on the right satellite, a separate subwoofer volume control, rotating satellite stands, and a game console adapter.

Designed for use with PCs, portable CD players, and MP3 players, the X-120 ($29.95) is a value-priced system with two speakers. Controls are located on one of the speakers, which also includes a headphone jack.

Logitech's Z Series and X Series speaker systems come with a two-year warranty, users manual, and cables.
