Living A Dream.

Around 3 years ago,my wife and I bought an apartment in La Florida,Playa Flamenca.on Spains beautiful Costa Blanca south. We didn't know the area that well, the problems you encounter trying to deal with banks, utilities etc in a foriegn country.

We thought it would be a good idea to share some of our experiences, good and bad,and maybe help anyone who is thinking of "Living the Dream".We currently go over to spain around 4 times a year, and rent the apartment to family & friends to help cover costs.Eventually we'll move there full time as the quality of life is far better than here in the UK.

As we go back and forth,we'll add more info, photos etc,and if we can help anyone out with anything, let us know.I hope you'll find this hub useful, and if not, interesting.

Inspection Tours.

When buying a property,it's common sense to learn as much as you can about the area you plan to buy in.The internet is great for all sorts of background material but nothing beats checking out the place yourself. We went on an inspection tour with a local estate agent,It cost £49 each, including flights & 3 nights B&B in the La Zenia Hotel.the company only showed us 4 properties a day, which left us plenty of time to head out and explore. We bought the 3rd property they showed us so we ended up with 3 days holiday.Even if you don't buy,you still gain information and get a good break into the bargain.
