I went to a wedding in North Branford Connecticut this past weekend and I had to find a place near the wedding to get an updo. I searched on the Internet (I live in massachusetts and im not familiar with the area) and found a salon called "La Bella hair". The salon sounded "upscale" so i booked an appointment.
I showed up to the salon an hour before i had to be at bride's house to take wedding pictures. As i drive up to the hair salon i was a bit nervous because the place looked like a Fantastic Sams because it is located in a small strip mall but since i was in a last minute situation i had no other options. I walked in and was met by the owner of Labella hair named Bernadette Pepe. She started to put my hair up and i didn't like the way she was doing it so i told her to just take it down and put it in a French twist and i fixed the front of my hair because she was clueless about any of the current in style updo's.
Now that she was done doing my hair for the second time that literally took less than 5 mins -- which i still wasn't satisfied, i got up to pay and the receptionist told me the price was $150.00. I couldn't believe it! I asked her if she said a dollar fifty and she said no -- ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS!! She said since she had to do my hair twice (keep in mind the second time i did the front and she put the back in a French twist that took 2 mins to do) that she had to charge me twice -- $75.00 x 2 = $150.00. I was appalled and told her i wasn't paying that. She then proceeded to try to lock me in the store and told me she was going to call the police if i didn't pay. At this point i had no choice to pay her because i was already running late for wedding pictures.
Bottom line here is that La Bella hair salon Ripped me off!
She knew;
- I was from out of state.
- I was running late and didn't have time to deal with police coming down and her locking me in the store.
- My boyfriend pulled up in an expensive car and she smelt money .
Please don't make the same mistake as i did going to labella hair salon. AVOID La bella Hair!

Ok bitch, listen next time get your hair done where ever the fuck you live. :) And La Bella Hair Salon in a great salon!!! I have a hard time believing this story, but thats besides the point. The salon is great, and they do wonderful updo's. I've had mine done for formals and prom and they came out great!

That Place is a Mess!!! im glad to see the complaintsflying around on the net about that hair salon. They need to shut that place down and Ban the owner from ever owning a hair salon!

la bella hair salon sucks
I've been to this hair salon once and only once to get an updo and it wasn't pretty. Bernadette does good updo's if your age 60 or older!!!! Other than that your best bet is to find a new salon!

To christina pepe: If you're an employee of the store, i am willing to bet some of these allegations are most likely true.
Christina Pepe is the daughter of Bernadete Pepe (the owner of La bella hair salon). She works as a stylists or receptionist. As you can see above me, her grammar and attitude tells the type of service this place gives. Total - white - trash! Avoid this North Branford, CT hair salon at all costs.
