These dogs normally have a lifespan of ten to twelve years, depending on how healthy they are. The main health issues associated with these Retrievers is OCD, patellar luxation, CHD, obesity and elbow dysplasia. Other health issues that may arise include collapsing from over exercising, diabetes, muscular dystrophy and distichiasis.

As the number one pet dog breed in since 1991, the Labrador Retriever is the best choice of pet for most homes.
