Ladies Go Vote!!!
50A woman's right to be heard
Most of us have absolutely no problem with telling our spouses exactly how we feel something should be done, whether it's been done wrong and what the right way to do it would be. Though for some reason a great deal of women out there feel that their giving their opinion on who should be the next President by voting is just too time consuming.
First let me say, I completely understand as I am a new mom myself and I now have almost no time to do anything for myself but I am going to go into that booth and vote come hell or high water. I don't care if my daughter is having a meltdown, I am going to walk out of there with an "I Voted" sticker and be proud of myself for doing so.
While we are coming up on the 100th anniversary for women's voter rights, it wasn't that long ago that our vote didn't exist. If you think about it, THE CONSTITUTION needed to be "amended" to allow us to vote. Our founding fathers didn't offer this to us as one of our "inalienable rights". Instead almost 150 years after it was written a group of strong, determined women had to go out and force this to change. I can't imagine what they had to go through but I am forever grateful they did what they had to. They wanted to be heard and they wanted us to be heard as well.
So every woman reading this, please go and vote this election and tell all of your girlfriends to do the same thing. Heck if you need to, create an Election Day Playdate so that all of your girlfriends can drop their kids off so that they can go and vote. Do whatever you have to, just make sure your voice is heard!
