"Ladies do you have a problem with the toilet stool lid being up, when it should be down?
This is one of my pet peeves, I don't have many because I basically pretty down to earth about things in general, all except the toilet stool lid being up when it should be down; for the record, I'm sure most women if not all get, annoyed when the lid is left up. The very annoying thing is to be half sleep and stumble into the bathroom; and almost fall into the commode because your husband, man, mate or who ever has left the lid of the commode up on the toilet, and you just got awaken by a wet butt from the water in the toilet.
Guy's that called inconsideration and it's not a good feeling to your butt either. I have been married more than once, and I have fell in the commode quite a few times; and take it from me, it's not a good feeling at all. In fact you be almost ready to fight, who ever left the commode lid up. This episode with the commode lid being left up instead of down, is enough to drive any women bonkers.
I'm sure I not the only casualty of the lid left up commode syndrome, there are others that has suffered the same fate. We can live without this little idiosyncrasy, I know I can. I Love a thoughtful man; and I was finally blessed to marry one. We have been married seven years, and has never had an occasions, where he left the toilet stool lid up; that alone is a blessing and any man that thinks enough of his wife , mother, women, or girl friend should never forget to put the lid down on the toilet.
I think that any man that is this thoughtful should be given a prestigious award for "Bathroom Courtesy" for being thoughtful of the women that has to go to the bathroom after them. I thanked my husband for his thoughtful deed. He told me, if there is a women living in the house, men don't leave the toilet lid up. I think that's a good idea that all men should follow; to keep peace in the house. but for those of you that have a problem with following through, please just remember to put the lid down after use. How would you like it, if some left it up and you fell in.

Thank you Hmrjmr1, for your advice, comment and feedback, but thank God for this husband, in seven years, has ever left the lid up. thank you again. I appreciate you. have a blessed evening. creativeone59
I think a lot of women feel this way. Being outnumbered by brothers while growing up, I must say I had to get used to this quite quickly.
I'm sure you did, I came from a family of six girls, so you know you had to put that lid down or else. Thanks again for your comment and feedback. creativeone59
A while back, my two Maine Coons were playing and romping. Like little horses, they scampered through the kitchen, living room, and into the bathroom. My Charlie Brown coon cat loved to sit on the commode and watch while I combed, or whatever, but this time, someone left the seat up! Kind of sounded like, da-dum, da-dum, s-p-l-a-s-h! However, he was out as quickly as he jumped in!
LOL, thank for that little comedy, I appreciate you and your comment. thank you again. creativeone59
I am glad you brought this up and hopeful it should cure the problems - so I doubt it. Thanks for writing this hub. I'll never be a woman again.
You are something else,Hello hello, but I just love you. have a blessed day. creativeone59
Ohh I love this topic. I cured my husband of 16 years by giving him the guest bathroom. It works out great...he can leave the top up or down and all the hair he wants on the soap and deordrant. We've moved twice since we wed and both times we were blessed enough to have a guest bathroom. He loves it and when we have guest...guess who gets to clean the guest bathroom :)
The lid should be down because that is what it is there for. Why have a lid on anything and not use it? Water does have drawing power too - so if you don't want to draw the energy out of your home, the toilet seat should be down. And who wants to look in a toilet?
By the way, if you have little children in the home an open toilet is a danger.
Thank you on all counts BK, thanks for your comment and feedback. blessing to you. creativeone59

Creativeone59- this problem was easily addressed early in our marriage by a simple request of my sweetie. The mechanics of who will use it next just don't come to mind to us thick skullled guys till our honeys mentions it. If that doesn't work, slam him in the noggin with a book the size of the Oxford dictionary when he 'Forgets', and remind him, but do say please... Great Hub!
