Lakeland Community Theatre uses rescue dog in production of ANNIE.
65Sandy and her director
This is the story of a rescue dog from the SPCA in Lakeland, FL. What makes this rescue so special you may ask? This dog is going to be a star. She is playing the role of "Sandy" in Lakeland Community Theatre's production of "ANNIE". As if that wasn't enough to make her one special dog, she is also going to raise awareness for both the Theatre and the SPCA. You see Sandy, (that's her name now as she was abandoned and the rescuers didn't know her name), is going to some very lucky family at the end of the run of the production. Some family from our audience is going to have the chance to adopt her. This is where it really gets good. We are using this as a fundraiser for both organizations. Meeting all the standards set by the SPCA our audience can purchase a ticket for a drawing at the end of the production.
So this is Sandy's amazing story. She will be letting you know of her daily activities from her foster home with the director of the production.
Enjoy this journey with Sandy!

Hi Sandy here, I just had the most amazing thing happen to me. I was rescued and brought to this really nice ladies house. You see I was left at a house that the bank had forclosed. My people didn't take me with them when they left. Luckily a volunteer for the SPCA of Lakeland was my gurdian angel. The day after my people left, she came and took me to the shelter. I didn't know that someone already wanted me. My foster parent had given a picture of a dog just like me to the folks at the SPCA weeks before I even got there. Debi, my foster parent, came immediately to look at me. I just knew when I saw her it was love at first sight. I mean who wouldn't love this face.
So we are off to her house, I guess it's my house now. Boy am I tired -- I'll let you know more tomorrow.
Have sweet puppy dreams
Sandy -- OH that's my NEW NAME. I like it!
