Have you ever sat frustrated waiting for your laptop to load a web page? Is your laptop so slow, it gives you the same freedom as a desktop on wheels?

Or is your laptop just a sucking energy from its battery like there is no tomorrow? I was so proud of myself when I bought my laptop. I had visualised myself conducting business from airports, airplanes, moving vehicles, coffee shops....

Just like in the movies! In reality, my laptop was so frustrating it quickly started collecting dust on one my coffee tables. I was angry with my girlfriend who is supposed to be tech savvy and advised me on my purchase.

I despised the BestBuy salesguy who had sold me the notebook with such confidence. I was just too dumb, too old to own one of those laptops... the ones you see on TV, the ones that seem to work anywhere and seem to work fast.

For sure if these succesful people I could see in the airports and coffee shops were using them and not throwing them against the walls, they must have bought a good one.

I had given up on all that when my 3 desktops were performing so poorly on my network that I finally decided to get some tech support at home. I first contacted one of these big brand names companies.

They sent 2 guys to my house just to assess my "business needs". They left and promised a quote shortly. I did get the quote the next day. It was so high I gave up on having any tech support for another 3 months.

Finally, I met a new friend at a friendly bar restaurant I enjoy in Buckhead. He happened to be a computer repair guy. One of them... Or that's what I thought at first. Since we dicided to work on business projects together, he offered to come and help me with my computers and laptop...

So that I could be a little more productive and could work together from a distance efficiently. To make a long story short, he fixed everything with my computers:

• My network
• My PCs
• My laptop

He even set up my signal amplifier so I could work with my laptop from anywhere in my house. I can now even connect securely to my desktop from my laptop and use programs that I only have on my desktop. You know these expensive downloadble programs that you don't want to pay 2 subscriptions for.

Now my laptop is faster than ever and I feel smarter than ever. We have plans to go work in that restaurant where we met and where I like to hang out. I feel so special (Ha Ha). I am no longer too old or too dumb. I no longer feel like the PC guy in the Mac commercials (I am a Mac and I am a PC...)

So all that to tell you not to give up. When I saw what technology can do when properly set up and for a reasonable price (he did not charge me but I asked him what he usually charges), I now regret I waited so long to get some real tech support in my home.

So don't dispair Atlanta, there is a way to get technology back on your side. For me, it was Laptop Repair Atlanta but I am sure they're not the only ones in ATL who can get the job done.
