Vacationing In Las Vegas - be Careful

Living in Las Vegas you have the opportunity to visit hotels and properties that vacationers never see. There is life beyond the Las Vegas strip, in fact it's as normal as any big city, almost.

One of the big differences here is the hours, since the casinos are open 24/7 you have people commuting all the time. Granted the daytime traffic is busier than night, you still have quite a bit of activity throughout the night. As you might expect with the constant activity in a town like this comes the alcohol, drugs and other impairments. One thing rare to this town is the configuration of traffic accidents, how automobiles end up in the positions one sees after an accident.

Here's a picture after a late night accident where the driver behind this expedition fell asleep and plowed right through the tailgate door. It's obvious a smaller car would have been demolished along with the passengers.

These occurances usually take place off the strip, the traffic on the strip is so congested I don't think damage of this sort is possible at such slow stop and go speeds.

Find A Nice Hotel And Don't Leave The Room

No, this isn't the way to enjoy a vacation in Las Vegas. I just warn people to stay alert because of the constant activity in this unique city.

Las Vegas has some of the best hotel room rates at this time because of the bad economy in 2009. The one thing the hotels can attract people with are rooms and food. The hotels need to get you there before they can pry the money from your wallet.

As you can see the city is square, this small cross section is a reflection of how the bigger city was built. The streets were build north to south and east to west. You can go from one end of Vegas to the other on any major street.

Pool Areas And More

As you can see the pool areas of some of the more luxurious hotels are just as extravagant, this you would expect.

The first is a shot of Caesars Place, quite a place to take a swim.

Then we have the Four Seasons Hotel, this is also one of the nicer hotels which is evident from the well manicured pool area.

My favorite, Red Rock Hotel. Not to be confused with the Hard Rock Hotel. They have a very open, tropical setting with a relaxing Bose sound system perched among the many palm tress.

I threw in the Motel Six, a basic pool area comparably but still clean and functional for swimming purposes. This off strip motel offers mid-week rooms in the $39.00 range, not bad for Vegas.

Then I found this picture from the Bellagio, if I'm going to be stepped on this is the way I want it. I'm sure this treatment costs extra.

Las Vegas Rooms And Suites

Above you have two pictures, the first is a deluxe room which is common on the strip. Depending on season and time of the week they can go from $70.00 up to $200.00 a night.

Th second picture is of a luxury suite, besides the upgraded appointments and hot tub in the room these suites offer a view of the city. At night it's mostly the strip lights, but quite a sight it is, this is what your paying for. These can ranges from $150.00 a night on up.

There is a room on the strip for most any budget or need you might have to make your vacation a true dream getaway.

If you want to see a cool map of the strip and all the hotels there go to Las Vegas Hotels Reviewed. Vegas is still the place people want to come and vacation at.

I've been to Las Vegas. I don't know how you can 'sleep' in the hotel, there's just so much to do in this city! I've been inside a hotel room (forgot the name of the hotel, it's beside the pyramid shape one and one or two hotels away from New York, New York I think), and the room is indeed beautiful.

Hi

What a good, informative article. I've never been to Las Vegas although I'd like to. My brother and sister - in - law have been several times and they really love it. Maybe one year I will.

Come in march, april or may, past that you risk getting into the heat season. Temps above 110 are common.

Regards

Thanks, I'll remember that. It must be hard for the animals to cope with that heat. I often think I'd like to live somewhere really hot. In the UK we never have good temperatures like that, and our winters are cold, too cold.
