laser eyelid surgery versus traditional eyelid surgery

In general the eyelid surgery is called the Blepharoplasty and in the recent times with the advent of laser the laser Blepharoplasty has become very famous. Laser is nothing but a beam of light which makes a small targeted incision on the targeted surface and this laser helps to avoid the normal big incisions as well as the healing time. Also since there are no sutures involved generally then the chances of having a permanent scar are very minimum.

That said the same holds true for the laser Blepharoplasty where the surgeon uses a laser or in some cases it is the CO2 which is used for the lasers. The laser is then directed towards the eyelid of the patient and a small cut is made which will then have a small incision via which the surgeon will make sure that they remove the excess fat as well as the excess muscle. This excess fat and the excess muscles when removed will make sure that the eyes will look rejuvenated and fresh.

Now this is better than the traditional surgery because of the simple reason that there is no blood spillage and that helps the surgeons too as thy can easily go on with their work. Also since ether is no incision then the chances of scarring below the eyes are not there and that is a must as the scar underneath the eyes will not look good at all.

Laser blepharoplasty costs

In terms of the operation time the eyelid surgery will take less time when doe via the laser than when done via the traditional surgical knife. In terms of healing time there is no need for the extended healing as there are no sutures applied. Then again since the incision is very small there is no risk of complications that can occur in traditional surgery. In al lot of cases the laser Blepharoplasty is more stable and long lasting than the normal eyelid surgery.

As far as the costs of the laser surgery are concerned the costs may be a bit higher than the normal costs of the eyelid surgery.

Now even the laser Blepharoplasty is not insured and that will mean that either you will have to bear the costs or you will have to have a financing company do the financing. In case you have bad credit you will still be able to get the eye lid surgery loans but rates will be very high.

Now days a lot of surgeons prefer to go either route that is with laser or the traditional eyelid surgery. . In most cases the procedure effectiveness really depends on the skill level of the doctor. So therefore before making any decision always seek the opinion of a couple of doctors

In general a lot of doctors are conservative in doing lower eyelid surgery incisions and may opt for the laser incisions and may even just go for the laser resurfacing. That said having a confident surgeon is a must and that ultimately will yield good results.
