Laser hair removal has been around sense the 1960s. Big shock I know as it has only been regularly advertised on TV and radio for the past 5 or so years. These original lasers were hard to control and avoiding surrounding skin damage during the procedure was impossible. Modern day laser hair removal machines however are very accurate in removing individual hairs for a fairly pain free treatment. The cost and discomfort of the treatment depends on where the hair is being removed from. You should consider possible skin damaging side effects before undergoing any treatment. It is also worth noting that multiple treatments, rather than just one will be required for maximum results.

Bikini Line or Arm Laser Hair Removal Cost

Bikini area laser hair removal is fantastic as it means no more ingrown hairs, awkward shaving or waxing of such a delicate area. It comes in at around the same price as arm laser hair removal. Thick arm hair is as unsightly on men as it is on women. You can expect to pay $350-$500 per treatment for this affordable laser hair removal.

Lower Legs or Upper Legs Hair Removal Cost

Imagine not having to shave your legs every morning in the shower. I’m not just talking to women either, more and more men are shaving their legs for sport and just because they prefer the look. Due to the large area of the legs and the amount of hair these laser hair removal treatments can cost $600-$850 each.

Cost Breakdown

Cheapest to most expensive:

  • Under Arms: $250-$350
  • Bikini: $350-$500
  • Arms: $350-$500
  • Chest: $350-$600
  • Upper Legs: $600-$850
  • Lower Legs: $600-$850
  • Back Hair: $600-$900
  • Face and Neck: $600-$900

Under Arm Hair Removal Cost

The most popular area for laser hair removal is the under arms. No more spider webs, shaving or awkward waxing strips, just undergo a few treatments and start experiencing hairless armpits. Under arm laser hair removal is also the cheapest at $250-$350.

Back or Face and Neck Hair Removal Cost

As men have come around to the idea of hair removal, face and neck hair removal has become more popular. Removing hair from your face can drop decades off your appearance or help with hair around the eyes and eyebrows. The other problem area for men as they get older is that their back starts growing more and more hair. It can be embarrassing taking your shirt off or even wearing a singlet. Being such a large area on your back and such a sensitive area on the face and neck; a single treatment can cost $600-$900.

Chest Hair Removal Cost

One of the most awkward places to have hair during the summer or during an intimate moment is on the chest. Chest and stomach hair can be rough and uncomfortable, especially if you have waxed and/or shaved in the past. Smooth hair free skin feels and looks great and can avoid any embarrassing moments for women. Prices come in at $350-$600 per treatment.

Why Does The Price Vary So Much?

The cost of permanent laser hair removal varies due to several factors:

  • What state the laser hair removal centre is in.
  • Whether you buy the treatment in single sessions or in packs. Some laser hair removal clinics only offer one of the other.
  • The quality of the practitioner. Be sure to use a qualified physician when undergoing a laser hair removal system.

Good luck if you decide to undergo a laser hair removal treatment. I hope you see great results and I hope this price guide has helped you gain an understanding of the cost behind laser hair removal.

Yea it's crazy. I guess just because it was painful and expensive (being less competitive back then) people stuck to shaving and waxing.
