Once the laser procedure is completed you will be sent home and instructed to care for the treated area. The area of the skin will need to be cleanses regularly with soap and water. Your doctor might also prescribe antibiotics  in order to prevent infection of the raw skin tissues. Skin regeneration will vary depending on the patient and on the type of scar that was removed. Medicated creams might also be prescribed by your doctor to help accelerated skin regeneration as well as to help the scar fade away quicker.

Complications Of Laser Scar Removal

Infection of the treated area is one of the most common complications of laser scar removal. This is especially true after laser acne scar removal. You can minimize such complication by exercising good hygiene whenever dealing with the treated area. Hyperpigmentation is another side effect and you can possibly avoid the darkening of the treated area by staying out of the sun. You might also have an allergic reaction and your skin might become irritable, like infections, your doctor should provide medicine to remedy this side effect.

Cost of laser scar removal will depend on several factors. First is the type of scar you have. If you only have minor scarring then the procedure will cost you less than a person who has massive scarring. The second factor will be the type of laser scar removal technique that was used. Laser acne scar removal which use the C02 and ER:Yag laser can be very costly if your acne is spread over different areas of your body. The overall cost will include,  anesthesia fee, surgeon's fee and the medical facility fee. Financing is usually available but this is dependent on the surgeon performing the procedure. You can also attain financing from several lending institution provided your application is accepted.
