Are you thinking about getting laser stretch mark removal treatment? Your self confidence can easily be shaken because of horrible, unsightly stretch marks. No one wants them or wants to deal with them. Stretch marks are not only found in pregnant women - they can also be caused by going through a rapid growth spurt, gaining weight quickly, and bodybuilders who put on muscle too quickly. Such rapid skin growth can cause scarring resulting in unsightly stretch marks.

Fortunately, now there are various stretch mark treatments using lasers that are available to you that can easily fade the appearance of stretch marks--some treatments can completely eliminate their appearance entirely.

Laser stretch mark removal is perhaps one of the most efficient and effective methods for treating the appearance of ugly stretch scars. It really should be noted, before you get your hopes too high, that stretch marks, regardless of the treatment you are using, are almost impossible to get rid of 100%. It is possible, however, to reduce their appearance dramatically in such a way that they will be relatively unnoticeable. You will be able to lessen how your stretch marks appear by approximately 30 to 80%, or even more depending on their severity.

Laser Stretch Mark Treatment Process

What does laser stretch mark removal entail? When you seek laser removal treatment, a technician applied a laser to the area where they stretch marks are and the light is consumed by the skins dermis layer and it is simulated to begin producing fresh collagen. The collagen that is produced starts to thicken and then fills out the stretch marks which helps to lessen the appearance of the marks.

It has been stated by some experts that laser stretch mark removal therapy is pretty much useless on older stretch marks that are white in appearance and should only be used on new, fresh red colored stretch marks. It should also be noted that if someone has a darker skin tone then this therapy is probably not the right one for you because it may cause hyperpigmentation (the area treated becomes much darker than other areas) in the areas that are treated.

The proclivity to develop stretch marks can also be determined by genetics, if your mother and father have them then you may be at risk for developing them as well. There are various precautionary measures you can take to try and prevent them from developing, but not even cocoa butter can prevent them if you are predisposed to them and you have become pregnant or have a rigorous weight lifting program.

If you are considering laser stretch mark removal, you will want to ensure that you are certain because it is a costly treatment that you will easily have to fork over a few thousand dollars for. You might want to do some research into some of the less expensive treatments like the creams that are widely available on the internet.
