We are Running Out Of Time

The Hubnuggets Wannabe Voting Closes today. Go and Vote! Every and Anyone is entitled to Vote! Have you voted yet?

Just out of curiosity do you know what I'm talking about? Have you got a clue?

Most probably not. And you needn't feel bad because I can almost guarantee you that besides the people that have been around Hubpages for a reasonable length of time , or whose hubs happened to have been nominated as a Hubnugget Wannabes very few people know of its existence.

I, for one, would not have known about this competition had my hub not been nominated. To tell the truth I did not even realize that it was a huge honor to be nominated before I went and did a bit of research on Hubnugget Wannabes

Who Can Be Nominated And How

Every week about 3,000 new hubs are created on Hubpages. This list is given to a specific team called the Hubnugget Team. This team consists of 6 members, namely Shirley Anderson, captaining the team, ProCW, B.T.Evilpants, Patty English MS, ripplemaker, and Ryan Hupfer - the only Hubpages member of staff.

These team members then go through the list of hubs created looking for hubs that they consider to be of superior quality and then narrow down the list to 10 Wannabes. The authors must have joined Hubpages within the last 60 days and their author score must be 75 or higher. The hub must have a score of at least 55. This narrows the selection down somewhat as you may have an excellent hub with a high hub score but if for some reason your author score is below 75 on the day of selection your hub will not be considered for that week's Hubnuggets Wannabe Competition.

Voting Closes Today!!!!!

How Does it All Come Together?

A Hubnugget Competition Hub is then created where the Nominated Hubs are listed with links to the hubs so that anyone interested in reading these hubs can read them and then vote for whichever hub they think is the most deserving to be a winner. Outsiders can also vote and obviously most of these voters will automatically vote for their friends, relatives or acquaintances that requested them to vote.

Ryan Hupfer, the Hubpages staff member announces the top five winning Hubnuggets and an announcement is made in the forum. The top five hubs appear in the weekly newsletter which is distributed to over 50,000 Hubpages members which is tremendous publicity for the winning hubs.

Maybe there is valid reason why the Hubnuggets Team do not advertise the existence of this competition to all new Hubpage members. Is it because they feel that people will create these awesome hubs just to impress the Hubnuggets Team and then up and leave Hubpages after winning the competition. Surely it can not be that. I could leave Hubpages tomorrow. There is no guarantee that any of the hubbers will be around tomorrow, next week or next month.

What Can You Do ?

Anyway now that you know what the Hubnuggets Competition is all about if you want to help this weeks Hubnuggets go to the Hubnuggets Hub to view the nominated Hubs and vote for the hub that you feel is the best.

Remember if you are new here ( been here less than 60 days) your hub may be chosen next week and you are going to need all the support you can get.

It's not that easy for the nominated hubbers to get votes due to the fact that not that many members are aware of the competition and there is a clear lack of support from fellow hubbers judging from the number of votes cast up until today, the day before voting closes. Considering there are more than 40,000 members and 129 votes have been cast - mainly from people who are non-members of Hubpages.

Get involved in the Hubpages community and support your fellow newbie Hubbers! We need you.

I voted, and I do usually. I also found out about it only because I was nominated (twice, before...I've almost passed the 60 day benchmark now). Good luck to you and I enjoy your writing very much.

It does work wonders as far as getting you traffic. You'll find it a very rewarding experience.

I like reading the hubnugget nominee's submissions and have become the fans of quite a few of them. They pick GOOD WRITERS!

When did the voting close? I'm a hub nugget wannabe now and I had no idea what a hubnugget was til a few days ago when I was told I was a wannabe. So this is a weekly thing for hubbers who have been here less than 60 days?

HI GreenMathDr

The Hubnuggets Wannabe Competition runs every week from Wednesday to Wednesday. Voting closed on Wednesday night I presume.

Thanks I have a few more days to decide if I'll vote for myself or if I'll vote for someone else I feel is more deserving.

Congratulations - Yes it is a pity that most people only find out about the competition when they are nominated. Unfortunately the hubbers don't offer much support so you will need to promote your own hub among friends and family.
