So far, all we know about Nicholas Sparks' The Last Song is that its main character is a 17 year-old girl named "Ronnie" Miller. She is forced to confront her anger at her divorcee dad when her mother sends her to spend a summer with him in North Carolina. One thing seems likely, however: there will be love lost and love found, as Sparks spins his masterful tales once again.

By the way everyone, can you believe how close it is getting to the time when the book will be out!? It's almost here: less than a month away. I wish I could just speed up time so that the book would arrive in the mail already! Oh well, I have already waited such a long time. The anticipation is killing me!

I have just learned from several reliable sources that Miley Cyrus will play the main character (spoken of above) in the film version of Sparks' The Last Song. It turns out that the whole book was conceived of and written specifically for the Hannah Montana star. So, to reiterate: the book version will be out on September 8, and the film starring Miley as Veronica "Ronnie" Miller will be out in January of next year (2010).

I'm thinking Academy Award. I really think this is going to be a new Miley that we're about to see. She is almost done shooting her last season of Hannah Montana and it's time to move on and put all the haters in their place.
