Hello, welcome to my new hub about delicious latino dessert recipes. If you live in the United States today, you have no doubt had the pleasure of trying Flan, and possibly Tres Leches. Both of these are age-old desserts enjoyed in almost all of Latin America.

Flan is also known as Creme Caramel or caramel custard. It is made with sugar (forming the hard caramel topping), milk, eggs and vanilla flavoring.

There are instant mixes available to make flan, but in my opinion, they are not nearly as good as making flan from scratch.

Tres Leches is a delicious "sponge cake" that is made with three types of milk (hence the name) - evaporated, condensed and whole milk.

Many people say the dessert originated in Mexico, but others dispute this and say it's origins are from Nicaragua. Needless to say, this postre is popular in all areas of Latin America. A few colorful variations exist, such as "pastel borracho", which includes a dash of rum for flavor.
