Law school adventures
47Summer before Law School
Well, I have to admitt I do not know what to expect from the first year of Law school. I have heard so many things that it is sooo hard and it takes a tremendous amount of work, but you know what... I am not afraid of work and I love a challenge so in a weird way I am looking forward to Law School.
I am attending Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida and will not feed into the negative comments people give about this school. Since I have been down here I have heard nothing but good things from people around Jacksonville and the school itself is very new and modern. I don't know how other law schools work, but I have already received a thirty book list of "recommended" reading to do over the summer and we even have an assignment due on the first day of class.
So I went to the closest library and looked up what books it had that were on the list and wound up getting a couple of them. Luckily one of them was a book on CD so I have been listening to the over 11 hours of audio about this ones mans experience as a 1L at Harvard Law. It definitely has been helpful as the audio book even gives some explanations on different topics of law so I am not just listening to a good story but learning something as well. I also watched the movie To Kill a Mockingbird which was on the reading list so I think I am doing all right so far. Thought it was a bit dragged out but over all enjoyed it all though not really sure how much it will help with law school.
So Im going to keep plugging away at the summer work I have to do and will keep posting how I am doing and anything that comes up in between and then once schools starts I will have plenty to write about!
