Leads Leap. Legitimate PPC Alternative or Another Safelist Scam?

When I first saw the email, my first reaction was to hit the delete key. After all, the last thing I need at this time is to clog up another abandoned email address with yet another unresponsive safelist.

For those of you who are not familiar with safelists, they are an email marketing strategy. You as a member, can send emails to the other safelist members in return you agree to receive emails from them. A pretty simple concept. One that has used successfully by several of the Internet Marketing gurus.

Here is the reality. You sign up for a free membership. You need to use an email address you create specifically for this list. You will want an email address that has a huge inbox like Gmail or Yahoo. You will receive tons of emails, from people in your upline and from members that upgraded their account.

If you are a free member you need to bring in safelist members under you to send out emails. Once you bring in new members, you can send out your emails. Your email list will grow exponentially as the people you refer to the safelist refer others, and so on. Reminds me of a shampoo commercial from the seventies.

Of course, you can fast track your email marketing by upgrading your account. By upgrading your account, you are allowed to email your marketing message to random members. If you have more money than patience, this may be the route to go. Mike Filsaime's ListDotCom.com allows their Pro members to email 1000 random members daily. Platinum members can email 5000 random members every two days. I mention ListDotCom.com as it is the only safelist I have ever used that generated any kind of results for me.

As I mentioned, when I opened the email, about Leads Leap, I figured it was another safelist, and almost deleted it. I am glad I didn't.

Yes there are some similarities. There is a free membership that requires your effort to grow your add credits. There is a paid membership to fast track your advertising. You do receive email. Although not as much.

That is where the similarity ends. Leads Leap offers a different twist.

Leads Leap has a viral blog and ezine. If you look at the screen shot, you will see the ezine that is delivered to my inbox 2-3 times per week. You will also see member ads to the right, highlighted in yellow.

You will also see my stats and my ad credits. As you can see, I have 2 new members in my downline. I joined the other day, and sent my affiliate link to about thirty people and two joined up and upgraded their account as well. So far not bad. I already made money and I haven't placed an ad as of yet.

Now you will also see I have 1110 ad credits. How did I earn them. Well I will letLeads Leap explain it better than I can.

How LeadsLeap Credit System Works (Taken from Leads Leap)

Through LeadsLeap credit system, your free text ad is shown to both our members and visitors of our 'viral' blog.

Basically, each credit is equivalent to one advertisement impression. The more credits you have, the more exposure you will receive.

Earning credits for free advertising can be easy and fun.

These are the various ways to earn advertising credits for you.

1) View other members' ads.

Forget about having to login all the time to view ads. We send info-packed newsletters to you regularly. Just view the ads in those newsletters to earn more credits. If that is not enough, you can also find ads in your members area as well as our blog.

Personally-earned credit is limited to 10 credits a day and you have to remain at the advertising website for at least 30 seconds before your next ad click can be credited.

2) Refer your friends to join LeadsLeap and let them help you earn more credits.

To further increase your credit, you can refer your friends to join LeadsLeap.

No, we don't give you credits for referring friends. It's better than that.

Whenever any of your personal referral views an ad, you will earn 1 credit! This means if you have 10 personal referrals and each of them view 10 ads, you will earn 100 credits every day.

3) Send visitors to LeadsLeap Blog

LeadsLeap Blog is probably the first viral blog in the world that not only allows you to advertise your ad for free, but also helps you to build leads and earn advertising credits at the same time.

Here's how it works:

We strive to share useful information in our blog. If you find any blog post that is interesting, post it to your own blog and bookmark it in your favorite social bookmarking websites.

First, people are drawn to the blog by the interesting content. Next, they see our members ads, click on the ads and help you to earn extra credits. Finally, they too are interested in posting their ads for free and they join LeadsLeap in your team.

One thing Leads Leap does to get you started is shamelessly bribe you. Signing up I received 100 ad credits to get started. Then the two people I referred in the first 24 hours of my membership gave me 500 credits each. I also click on 10 ads. I can now send my ad out to 1110 members of Leads Leap.

Hmmm. So far I have not spent any money. I earned $19.90 and by referring just 2 members. I have 1110 ad impressions available to me. A useful E-zine and blog that gives me valuable information and free products. And an advanced link cloaker. Can it get any better?

Yes.

Under the resources section, there is a link for free bonuses. It is the Mega Internet Marketing Video Collection. The thirty five video products alone would be reason enough to become a member. Here is screen shot that shows you some of what you get...

Three of the thirty five video products in the Mega Internet Marketing Video Collection you get as a bonus for being a member of Leads Leap.

Those are just three of the thirty five video products that you get as a bonus to your membership. When I discovered that, well, to be honest I was blown away.

If you are reading this, then I am willing to bet that you are looking to make money on the web as am I. Chances are then that you, like myself have tried all kinds of things to advertise and promote your website. Some free, some paid, some effective, and others quite useless.

Pay per click advertising has always been an effective, albeit a costly way for me to drive traffic to my websites. Safelist marketing, with the exception of one, has been a great disappointment to me.

How well do the ads at Leads Leap work? I don't know yet. I have not used my credits. However, when you consider that I am already up $19.90, my inbox is not cluttered up with spam, I receive valuable content and bonuses and I have already earned 1110 ad impressions, I am ahead of the game, considering how little effort I put into it. So I cannot personally say it is a viable Pay Per Click alternative, although I will be testing that soon. I can say with much more conviction however, that Leads Leap is not another safelist scam. There is no downside to joining.
