Learn How To Dance Waltz Like the Stars
Learn How To Dance the Waltz
Cotillion, Wedding Dance, Prom - these are good enough reasons why one should learn how to dance the waltz (or at least try). Here are great sources to get you started.
Waltz Dance Videos / DVD:
- Learn How To Dance Waltz with Louis from Dancing with the Stars - A clip from the "Dancing with the Stars" dance instructor Louis Van Amstel himself. If you're into competitive dancing or you want "sensational" dance lessons then this is definitely for you. You can buy or sample Louis Van Amstel's Learn to Dance the Waltz DVD at this website: LetsDanceLouis.Com. (Other Learn to Dance DVD offers are tango, foxtrot, chacha, rhumba / rumba, salsa, samba, and jive - you can also view clips of these from the site.)
- How To Dance the Waltz Video Series from ExpertVillage.Com - A series of free expert (waltz) dancing videos from Budapest dance champions Sarolta Eke and Tamas Kassai. The videos teach the basic waltz steps plus some advanced moves like the popular Underarm Waltzing Turn. The videos are very detailed - complete with holding techniques, feet positions, and counting. There's even a Waltz Choreography with Music video - all for FREE.
Now that you've at least had a glimpse of the waltz dance, you might want to try taking formal waltz dance lessons to apply what you've just learned. Just see if you could work it with a partner - even find out if you have the potential to dance the waltz "like a star."
Here's one site I've found offering waltz dance lessons. It's in New York City, New York (I think there's something about New York that makes great dancers - think JLo and her Bronx lessons). Anyway, the dance group is called "Ballroom Wedding Dance" (It's partners with the "Ballroom NYC" Studio). Other than the waltz, the "Ballroom Wedding Dance" also specializes in other (romantic) wedding dances like tango, samba, and rumba. The wedding dance lessons are choreographed and taught by trainer Peter Jones, an award-winning NYC dance instructor. Here's their official site: BallroomWeddingDance.Com. Of course there are other dance lesson groups offering great lessons in waltz.
Other helpful websites linking to other great (waltz) dance sites are:

- Tunes.Com "Waltz Dance Steps" search results
Hope you find some of these (waltz) dance sites helpful.
