Learn To Hypnotize

Well here it is, my first post on my brand new hubpage that I've chosen to set up for anybody that would like to learn to hypnotize.

I've mainly chosen to set this thing up because I know how overwhelming it was for me when I first set out to learn to hypnotize.  There was just so much information around and I had no idea where to start.

So what I'm going to do here is begin with a very brief overview of the steps you'll take when hypnotizing somebody.  I won't go into so much detail here, I'll just keep it simple for now, so that you know the basic framework, rather than throwing you in the deep end with all the crazy terminology that's around.

So here you go, a quick walkthrough of how to hypnotize someone:

The first thing you'll want to do is make sure that the background is condusive to a hypnosis environment.  You don't want anything distracting the person you're about to hypnotize (known as "the subject").  So if you can set it up so that you'll be hypnotizing your subject in a quiet room, maybe with some dim lighting, and not too hot or cold.

Think of it this way: if you could fall asleep in this room, then you can hypnotize somebody quite easily in this room.

At this point, you'll want to make sure that YOU are in a state that will allow you to hypnotize: slow and relaxed is the state I prefer.  Basically whatever mood you're in, expect your subject to pick up on it, and even mimick it.

Get the subject to sit, or even lay down, somewhere comfortable.  Ask them to close their eyes, and to concentrate on the sound of your voice.

As they get used to the sound of your voice, get your subject to focus on their breathing, as they take a nice deep breath in, hold it for one second, and then slowly exhale as they imagine all of their tension leaving with that exhalation.  Get your subject to do this a couple of times as you instruct them.

Ask the subject to gradually relax their body, feeling all of the tension leaving them, so that they feel safe, calm, and at ease.

You may, at this point, instruct walk your subject through the process of relaxing each individual body part, beginning at their head, and slowly travelling down their entire body to their toes.

It's about now that your subject should be completely relaxed, with mental defences down, feeling good about themselves and completely safe.

Right now, they are ready for hypnotic suggestion.

Now is the perfect time to repeat a hypnotic suggestion to your subject.  Obviously whatever you suggest will be based upon what it is the subject would like.  For example, quiting smoking, or losing weight.  (Some people like the phrase "You are an incredible human being, and you can achieve anything you set your mind to", repeated 3-5 times).

Once you've finished with the hypnotic suggestion, let your subject soak in it for a couple of minutes in complete silence.

Now that they've had a couple of minutes to really let the hypnotic suggestion settle, you can begin to bring them out of the trance, simply by letting your subject know that you will count backwards from 5.

As you count backwards from 5, with each number, suggest that your subject will be becoming more and more awake, refreshed, and re-energised.

Once you reach the number one, click your fingers to bring your subject back to the real world, and let them sit again in silence as they re-adjust.

So that's a very quick overview of the process, obviously with more entries I'll elaborate a little more on the whole hypnosis thing, and introduce you to a few of the technical terms along the way.

Hopefully now, as you learn to hypnotize you'll find it a little easier to implement the new information with this basic overview.

All the best.
