Why is it so easy to look at the guitar strings yet so hard to play them?

I have always wanted to play the guitar.  Back in high school I played the saxaphone because in those days, there really were no guitars in the music programs in Ontario High Schools.

Today, as my oldest child enters High School this next year, I find that each High School we have visited has many different music programs.  There is of course the 'Band' program, and the 'Group Band' program.  Along with vocal and others.

"Group Band" I asked, "What is that?"  Well sir, if your child would like to help form a band like the bands they listen to on the radio, then this is the route they should take.  Call it Rock band if you want, but it is very intensive and the kids just love it.

Well, where in the crap was this when I went to High school?

Funny how I could get so jealous so fast.  I want the best for my children and yet, I feel a bit left behind when it comes to the new curiculum.

I am truly an amature guitar player yes, but I am working on it daily. I ordered a great 'Learn to play' program from Jamorama. This guy Ben Edwards has created an intensive program for every level of player.

I began using my wifes guitar a few years ago. I self taught myself about 15 ot 20 chords and just kept playing. I've slowly made myself into an average player. But learning tabs and picking is very hard for me.

When I found Ben's site I was eager to try his free lessons to see if the rest of his program would be useful. Well, it was. Very great program. I am learning more and more each day.

I know I'll never become a huge Rock Band guitar player but I have exceeded the limited abilities that I thought I had. Thank's to Ben's program, I now have learned how to do a few riffs and I am so excited to be learning some of my favorite 80's music. Ya that's right, I'm in my 40's and have just began learning the guitar.

I've been singing for a number of years now in a Praise Team at our church. We have all electric guitars, both bass and lead, drums and keyboard. We play all sorts of music from Matt Redman to Michael W. Smith. I am the lead singer for the Team and love to do the Michael W. Smith stuff. Recently, I was asked to bring in my acoustic guitar to play and give a bit more harmony to our team. It's been great.

Learn to play with Jamorama and you to will be playing anywhere you want.
