The 3 Stages of "Learning to Dance" from a young male's perspective

Stage 1 In Year 8 when a young male attends a social and he wishes to dance with a lady he asks and then proceeds to receive his lessons on the floor. As told to me by my second son, first you get the feet going - there is no need to look at your dance partner or even talk to her; you just have to get those feet moving.

Stage 2 In Year 9 you incorporate the hand movements and soon you have both the hands and feet going together. You still haven't lifted your head or spoken to your partner as yet - however you are on the floor and moving.

Stage 3 The next year, Year 10, you actually manage to have the hands and feet moving plus you might even manage a few verbal niceties to your partner. But as advised when you're smashed you can do anything and dancing then becomes quite enjoyable.

This sounds incredibly structured - Fred Astaire move over!
