Leather Boots for the larger lady

Leather Boots
Leather boots have a 5,000-year history. The first leather foot coverings were stuffed with straw and served as protection against the rough terrain and severe climate of the Bronze Age.Initially, leather boots were used to protect the feet and legs of military personnel and horseback riders.Leather boots are cut in differing lengths that range from the ankle to mid-thigh. the heels on women's leather boots are made as high as five inches. The varying types of leather boots include: thigh-highs, gusset, half boots, Hessian, Wellington, short ankle, cowboy and the biker's. The average foot size of women in the UK is a 5 which in USA sizing would be a 7 and the most popular heel height is 2".
So to cut to the chase! WHY is it so difficult for larger ladies to find good quality boots to fit the circumferance of their calves? I am as you can see by my photo above, a lady of larger propotion with large calves and i am sick of going from shop to shop trying on boots and coming away with nothing but a sad face!. almost half of women find it hard to find high legs boots that fit their calves well. Who exactly is it that footwear companies use as the fitting model for their knee boots? Sometimes you’d be tempted to think it’s Kate Moss! so come on guys! we don't want to see size 0 models modelling boots that half of us cant get into!! that just doesnt make sense, there are plenty of plus size modelling agencies who could supply a model for you for the modelling of your boots. Boots have to fit your legs as well as your feet, and obviously all women are different - so why do most shops only offer one choice of calf fitting? which is known to be around 35cm circumference.Over-the-knee boots are one of the hottest looks this season and come in a hugely diverse range of designs. With styles including everything from tapered heels to platform stilettos, skin-tight fits to stylish slouch, this high-fashion footwear looks fabulous worn over tights, long socks or jeans. Normally i would say that for ladies who are 5ft 4 or below, to give you more height, then to try and go for a boot that has a heel of 4" or more and possibly knee high as this would give you the taller look and on the opposite side of the coin, 5" 4 and above flat heels to take away the feeling of being too tall.
Now the next stage? Where can you go to try and get boots that would fit your calves? well i have done quite a bit of research on the world wide web and have come across a few places that may be of interest to you out there to try, so take a look at the links section below. I am sure that there will be something of interest for all.
So all is not lost, if you drill down deep enough, there are places out there that cater for ladies such as myself, obviously because of the larger calves you do seem to pay the price for it though as i have seen nothing less than £100.00 for a pair so far, but i suppose a good pair of good quality leather boots should last you more than a year with regular wearing, so money well spent if you can afford it.
HOT STYLES IN BOOTS
Boots 4 all
Like basic black pumps, certain boot styles are timeless; they're easy to wear year in and year out, and they go with nearly everything in your cool weather wardrobe. That's why I highly recommend having a pair of simple knee-high boots in either brown or black -- all the better if you can have both.
But beyond the basics, each winter brings an array of new boot trends. Some of this winters styles are booties and ankle boots which even for the larger calved lady shouldn't present too much bother and can be quite stylish. plus also you have the old favourites such as your knee high boots, flat boots and the good old sexy boot plus also this winter i have noticed on the catwalks that the thigh high boots have made an appearance which is definately very difficult to get!! Believe me.
As you can see here, there are a selection of boots that would suit most tastes.you have to remember that if you are small in stature and you want height then go for something with a heel if you can walk in them and tall people may want to play down their height by going for a flat heel.
