Leather skirts can be a fantastic look on most people but it is important they are worn with style otherwise they can look slightly "trashy" on some people! Most people can pull them off but it comes down to what they are worn with and how much make up is used which decides whether someone thinks "sexy" or "slutty". It's a fine line! If you are looking to buy a leather skirt then it is important to not only think about the style and price but also what you are going to where it with and where you are going to where it to as this will decide what style you get as much as anything else.
As a general rule wearing a leather skirt with a high neck top as well as conservative make up can look very stylish and cute. This goes for most types of leather skirt but is especially important if wearing a leather mini skirt for obvious reasons. It does come down to personal taste though and something that might look great on one person might not look so good on someone else so go and try on some skirts and see what looks good on you! Once you have the skirt you can sart planning outfits. It is also a good idea to not wear your leather skirts all the time but instead save it for special ocassions when you want something with more impact for a night out or something similar.

Buying a leather skirt

Getting a brand new leather skirt isn't always cheap, so you want to make sure you buy a piece of clothing that is going to last you a long time and be a permanent fixture in your wardrobe for at least the next few years. Because of this it is important to take our time when choosing and think carefully about what kind of skirt you want as well as what would look best for your body type and size. For example if you are tall and slim then a leather mini skirt will probably look fantastic, while shorter women might find that a pencil skirt is a better fit.

Prices

Like most things you get what you pay for with a skirt, especially a leather one. If you want a high class item that you can bring out for that extra bit of sexiness every now and again then you're probably going to have to shell out a decent amount of money to get one. For example a quick search on the internet showed three skirts that are around the £60 mark. This isn't going to break the bank but isn't cheap either. Of course if you want a designer item then the price can be considerably more, but for most people this isn't really an option. For example if you are looking for a Ralph Lauren skirt you'll have to pay at least £400 which is a huge outlay of money.

What to wear with a leather skirt

What you wear with your skirt is of course a matter of choice, but there are certain things you should look out for when deciding on an outfit. As I've mentioned it is easy to go over the top with a leather skirt but with a bit of due care you can look very stylish and classy. A minimum amount of make up is definitely a good idea and if you wear a black top it can look a bit bland, but again it is completely up to you and will depend almost entirely on your body size and shape.

Caring for your skirt

First of all you should keep your leather skirt in a dark place so that it isn't constantly exposed to sunlight as this will dull the colour. It is unlikely that you'll be keeping it in direct sunlight anyway but it is definitely worth mentioning. You might think that your skirt probably won't need cleaning if you only wear it occasionally but invariably something will happen to it and you want to keep it in pristine condition. If you happen to get caught in a rain shower while in your skirt you should let it dry naturally. If you need it cleaned it is often best to take it to a professional, because although it is more costly it will help your leather to survive longer in the long term. The same of course applies to all other leather clothing that you might own.
