Full grain leather is mostly natural with hardly any human interference in it. Unlike the corrected and split leather, the hair is removed but it is neither buffed nor sanded making it more durable. There are also many showing natural imperfections which aren’t removed either but they aren’t as obvious as you might think they are.

Corrected leather, unlike full grain leather, has its imperfections removed making it look better than the previous type. However, it is nowhere near as durable as full grain leather and won’t last as long as full grain leather can last. It can be semi aniline just like the full grain though, which helps keep it under good state and color under management making it always seeming to be newly bought.

Split leather on the other hand is more like corrected leather when it comes to durability (full grain is the highest quality and the best durability) and it is made to make suede so you can make really nice clothing out of it. And you can increase its durability if you like just by having it shaved to the suitable thickness.

Fortunately all three types can be easily treated and cleaned. In fact, most leather can be simply treated except unprotected leather which allows stains to sink deeply into it and become permanent. Anything as luxurious as leather (and as expensive) should last for long years and the better quality and higher durability the longer lasting, like full grain leather, that’s why you should be careful with what you own. Always keep it clean and take care of it from tearing and ripping. Eventually your leather will begin to wear out on it’s own over the years, how long will it take? That depends on the type of leather you chose. You can also ask the shop your bought your furniture from for a how to clean leather furniture guide.

It is very helpful to know a little about something you want before you head to the mall to buy it, it’s also very important to know these 3 types of leather before you decide to buy any, at least you’ll have an idea on what to search for and the kinds they come in and save yourself the frustration that most customers suffer in store because some people hire workers who know next to nothing to sell.

As we all know, leather is extremely popular; almost everybody wants to own leather material whether it’s leather clothing, leather furniture, boots, purses…etc. Leather is very beautiful and decorative; however, it is very expensive and unaffordable to many people, that’s why when you decide to buy something made of leather you should be aware of the all the types, shapes, sizes and prices they come in. This will help you find what you’re looking for and help you avoid getting ripped off with the prices. It’s good to have an idea about what you’re shopping for before you go out. Leather has many different types but this article mentions the 3 main ones which are: full grain leather, corrected leather and split leather.

Leather can be the perfect choice for any room. You should be fully satisfied with your leather furniture if you treat it right. When you make your decision on what type of leather you want to get you should base it on your usage. If you you plan to eat, drink, snack on it and use it everyday then you should ocnsider getting a more durable type. If the usage is minimal then you can get the softer more delicate full grain. Leather is easier to maintain than what many people think and it usually lasts a very long time.
