A truely majestic dog

Hi all,

I would like to promote the Leonberger breed in Singapore. It is because I am tired of telling people what a leonberger is. Whenever I walk my leonberger on the street, I am always stopped by strangers asking me about my dog. Many people think my leonberger looks so unique and they have never seen this kind of dog before. I have stayed in this neighbourhood for about 1 year, my dog has become the celebrity dog now.

Dogs have been part of my life since I was borned. We used to have German Shepherd, Rottweiler, pug dog, Alaskan malamute and mixed breeds. After my 14 years old Rottwelier died, I decided to live without dog. I begin to spend more time surfing the net. In 2006, I discovered a website which help you to select a breed that suit your lifestyle. From a list of breeds that fit my profile, I found the leonberger. Then I did more research on this breed and finally contacted the breeders. The breeders are very selective, they made you to answer a questionnaire. If you are "qualify" to have this breed, they will give you a contract that contains many obligations and conditions.  My husband felt that the terms and conditions were so harsh and he wanted to look for another breed.  Luckily, we finally closed the deal with the most experienced breeder and received our little puppy home in March 2007.  Then, our love story with this breed begin.

I am also chief co-ordinator for the International Leonberger Database: http://ileodata.com and I don't think ILD has a single registered Leo for Singapore. So please do tell us more!

You can email database: ileodata@gmail.com or me privately in Australia: hochspitz@gmail.com
