Thousands of diet pills and weight loss supplements are exported from Europe to the United States, and many offer benefits beyond just weight loss. Skin improvements, reducing the signs of aging, and even tanning capsules are becoming popular health and lifestyle supplements for many.

Lepto-Trim fits under the weight loss category, a diet pill that contains large amounts of asparagus concentrate that ensures dieters they can lose ‘unhealthy fat and excess weight easily, safely, quickly, naturally and without dieting and exercise.' Claims like this sound too good to be true, and do not have satisfactory evidence or scientific proof to support them. Still, those who choose to take Lepto-Trim do need to consider how ‘safe' these pills really are.

How Lepto-Trim Claims to Work

Lepto-Trim diet pills contain a high concentration of asparagus, a natural diuretic that has been used in herbal medicine for thousands of years. Asparagus is often found in many diet plans and weight loss regiments, as it can make the body lose excess water with ease. Asparagus also contains aspartic acid which is an important amino acid that can keep the metabolism in balance.

Lepto-Trim works primarily as a diuretic by encouraging water loss that is stored in the body. It also contains a significant amount of fiber; since healthy digestion is necessary for ongoing weight loss, Lepto-Trim can help the body's digestion and elimination process. In some ways, Lepto-Trim helps the body ‘flush' the toxins out of the body more easily.

How Safe Are Lepto-Trim Diet Pills?

Lepto-Trim is a diuretic, which does offer some benefits for people who tend to retain water. However, diuretics of any kind-herbal or synthetic-can create a water imbalance in the body, and the person can suffer from dehydration and related symptoms. Excessive water loss can be very dangerous, and can cause fainting, heart palpitations, sweating, and fatigue. Taking a diuretic for an extended period of time can be very taxing on the body, and makes it even more difficult to bring it into balance.

Although Lepto-Trim promotes digestion, this may lead to constipation and bloating, especially for dieters who are not used to having a lot of fiber in their diet. Flushing out toxins from the body in a healthy way also involves drinking lots of water, exercising regularly, and eating natural foods that can be processed and absorbed by the body. A pill such as Lepto-Trim is not a quick fix solution, or even a replacement, for what the body needs.

Bottom Line: Lepto-Trim is simply a dietary supplement that claims to be linked to weight loss, but works as a diuretic and fiber supplement instead. It may lead to weight loss in the short term, but most of this will be water weight that will return once the dieter starts to eat food and drink liquids. The supplement has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and even though it is being marketed as a ‘revolutionary' diet pill, it does not offer any proof in the form of clinical trials or studies with long-term use.
