Walk Away The Pounds DVDs
I’m one of those people who would be really fat if I didn’t starve myself occasionally. Oh, settle down, I’m kidding. Kind of… I don’t actually starve myself, but I don’t really eat much, either. Believe me, you’d never know it to look at me. But seriously – starvation just isn’t enough unless you’re willing to go Nicole Richie. And, really, who wants to look like a toothpick? Not I. I like my curves, I just want to keep them in order. And yet.. I really hate exercising. And when I say hate.. I really men loathe, abhor, detest, etc. Nevertheless, I have to, or I’d be a big fat cow. Actually, I probably am a big fat cow by Hollywood standards. And that’s cool. If having breasts and bottom makes one a cow, let me just say “Moooooo!” Ok enough about how skinny I’m not.
Let’s talk about the tool in my fat-blasting arsenal: Walking! Yeah, that’s right. Walking has a MAJOR slimming effect on my body. Far, far better than jogging, running, stepping, etc., has ever had. I’m not exaggerating. Oh, I walk fast, but it’s not power walking. I mean, you wouldn’t jump out of my way in fear of being trampled to bits. I just walk as fast as I can without looking stupid – a good rule of thumb, really! I’ve long since realized walking was perfect for my body type and used to tell all of my friends. They’d laugh and say they weren’t giving up their 5 hour a day workout routines, thank you very much. Eh, their waste of time, not mine.
Leslie Sansone - Benefits of In Home Walking
And then Leslie Sansone’s Walk Away the Pounds came out, and that was all she wrote. FINALLY, some recognition! Walking works, and this program is proof positive. Mind you, you’re not going to look like she does, just from walking. She does a whole lotta, lotta other stuff in gym, I promise you. But you can get THIN this way, I promise. And hey, if the pep talk stuff annoys you like it does me, mute the TV and stick your walkman on. Really, all you need is the visual motivation – just play along until the program ends.
Some extra tips from me to you:
Whether walking outdoors or in, twist your hips as much as you comfortably can while walking – this helps to slim that your waist into a nice curve.
Get those legs up – you don’t need to march, but the higher you lift, the more strenuous the exercise.
Drink water when you need it – this is important, lots of people are afraid to drink during exercise. Just listen to your body, if it’s begging, show it some love but no gulping.
Wear good sneakers! Do NOT do this barefoot if you’re indoors! Your ankles and legs need the support!
If you hate the DVD soundtrack, mute it and use your iPod or something. Use music to keep you in the mood to blast fat. This is so important!
Use handweights to add to your workout.
Easy on the ankleweights – these hinder my workout rather than help it. They aren’t for everyone.
If you need a break, STOP. Do not overexert yourself. You can always exercise later, or tomorrow.
Try exercising in the morning, it can really help give you energy for the day.
