Five Reasons Healthcare Reform Is A Bad Idea

The proposed healthcare reform is the single greatest disaster to come forth from the Obama administration. If this comes to pass it will change life in the United States in ways for the worst.

1.  The proposal includes forcing EACH BUSINESS NO MATTER HOW LARGE OR SMALL to provide coverage for employees. Your child care costs will triple. Your car repair will triple. Your groceries will triple. Your BIG MAC will cost more than a present day trip to the Outback Steakhouse.

2.  The government can't manage the present level of medicare. When government is in charge of all "medicare" and this is what national healthcare will mean the costs will require a doubling of taxes. The proposal that being floated is a national sales tax on everything you purchase at stores.

3.  Higher taxes will mean job losses. Forcing each business to provide health insurance will mean job losses. Many, many small businesses will be forced to close. In fact one in three businesses will cease operations before this legislation is enacted and more will follow.

4.  At present rates the health insurance cost for a family of four - and keep in mind that an employer will have to cover an employee's family - costs about $400 a month. A childcare facility with 10 employees and caring for 40 children will be paying out an additional $4,000 a month. So figure each child's care will rise $40. a month. A family with two children in childcare would see their yearly cost jump to eight thousand a year!

5.  The quality of health-care will be cut. Under current medicare it is at least a six hour wait to get into a hospital emergency room on a weekend. Those on medicare pack the waiting rooms to receive care for every minor illness or injury. A regular doctor's visit can take a half a day and that is after waiting two weeks for an appointment. Imagine when healthcare is government run and free!

Health care is going to be limited to the younger people and those without major health problems. The proposed legislation being voted on and is set for approval says over and over that the elderly will not receive FULL CARE FOR PROLONGING LIFE. The age limits for "elderly" have yet to be set and that scares anyone under sixty.

The government is going to define "sick" and you may not qualify if you were born with any handicap or defect.

No offense, but americans are constantly coming over to Canada to take advantage of our health care system. If these reforms take place, then that would greatly improve the Canadaian healthcare system because there would be shorter line-ups.

All these points of arguments presented are completely false and otherwise distorted. You give half of the argument and even less factual evidence. At least your future is secure- when the likes of Hannity and O'Reilly retire.

You are disconnected from the REAL world. You might consider taking a course on macroeconomy and financial history. I regret to inform you that your views are patently absurd. If the US fails to implement health care reform, then it will be the end of the American "good life," and an end to America as a superpower. I think your head is filled with AM radio trash talk. Turn that damn thing off, read a respectable newspaper and please, grow up.

James

there are many, many things that politicians manage to real screw up. Health care would not be the problem it is if two things were done in the 1960's. (1) repeal the stupid law that forbids insurance companies from offering services nationwide. (2) tort reform (a favorite fund-raising group for liberal causes and politicians)

Barney Frank and his pals screwed everyone with their regulation of the banking and housing industries.

the House passed the BILL

1. In the bill there is the requirement for business to pay 92% of the cost per employee

2. Hefty fines for middle class who do not buy into the Federal program

3. Hefty taxes for those making over 500,000.

4. The Depart of Health will control "all" aspects of the insurance industry

5. a "medical Home" provision which is another term for "HMO" - they control what doctors or hospitals you use

I agree completely with you, "Pacwriter"! It is beyond me how that the others can't see the devestations that this ridiculous Healthcare Reform will bring! They are clearly in denial. What ISNT to understand about REDUCED QUALITY healthcare, ridiculously long waits/lines, RATIONING, etc. Not to mention the tremendous SHORTAGE of doctors when suddenly about EVERYONE is insured!!

I am on a life/death medication, and I utterly tremble at the mere thought of no longer having access to it or my prescribing doctor! Thank you for your blogs, people need to hear the truth whether or not they are willing to accept it. Theres a term for some of these types: "Sheeple." (They that go willingly along with whatever their Government deems best for them without disputing whatsoever!)
