Dear Cousins:

I am writing this letter today October 1, 2008 (the Jewish new year) to first say hello. How are you doing I am fine and I hope your are too. I was just sitting here thinking about you. The state of the country is unbelievable isn't it. The things that are going on now are things that I would never imagined possible. I mean Wall street falling apart. Institution that i would swear would be around forever are gone or irrevocably changed. . They are even voting on a plan to save wall street. I mean 700 billion dollars is a lot of money no matter how you slice it. Then they say it is for our own good. truth of the matter is it doesn't really matter to us. Nobody is truly asking us our opinion( to be real). We make up small part this society, minority is what we are called (eventhough it is impossible to a minor citizen). I know most people don't remember the great depression but we survived that all those programs created wasn't really for our benefit. But we banded together and made it. we will survive this and be made stronger for it. For God doesn't inflict more on a person than he can not handle.

Don't get caught up in thIs Obama election hype. Though it is a beautiful thing to see black family running for First Family. The facts are he won't be the one paying most our peoples salaries. He must follow the majorities will. I am okay with that, because I remember when we said a cousin would never even get a chance to be President so the fact that he is on the ballot brings joy to my heart and i hope it does yours. Do you ever imagine the amount of cousins who are not here that thought such a thing as a Black president literally impossible. Hip Hip Hooray.

Cousins I need you to remember who you are. Not to get lost in where you are. But who you are as a essence. We are the survivors of the greatest self inflicted holocaust in History. We did this to our selfs they just took advantage of it. It is time to accept blame without forgeting who is responsible. We can't go on just living. Life is more than work or play. Life is all we truly know. And so few of us take full advantage of it. Because we are afraid that's right afraid. Afraid to fail. Success is simple but complete and utter failure that is a tough pill to swallow. So we do enough to look good but not enough for the next two generations coming. Take a look at our neighborhoods, our elderly are afraid to go outside. Little chidren get caught in crossfires. You must remember that is our Grand Cousins and our little cousins. Deal with players of your game and let the bystanders enjoy their lives without fear or intimidation. Strenghthen and beautify your neighborhoods no matter what. Look at our schools under funded and over crowded. That is to be expected for minorities. Take the time to go to the library and you become the teacher. The teacher is the one that passes on knowledge it is not just a certificate. For we must do better for ourselves prince charming don't want to save us.

I know this letter is getting a little long but I have one more thing to say. Your are the familIes in the Bible. When the Bible says Noah and Abraham they are speaking of your grand, grand , grand.............................. fathers. And nobody of any race can say that but you this is a fact. The bible is the history of your people so read it. And not just the new testament, the old testament. The scenery is all set around what is now called Africa. So read i mean really read exodus , genesis, both kingspick a chapter it is all ourstory. Then go to the library and look up where this places are and when they occured and you will see our history. Fall in love with the bible for it shows us our mistakes. One love and guidance cousin for i will see you in the mirror.
