Lexmark has put out some terrific printers in the past, and they have recently released eight AOI (all in one) printers.  One of them is the Interact, which has some terrific features for any home office. 

The first thing I have to say about the Interact S605 is that it is quick.  When I say quick, I mean that it can do plain (only black ink) pages at about 33 per minute.  As for the 4 x 6 photos, they are also speedy at only 24 seconds per print. 

The second thing I have to admire is that it really is all in one.  In fact, a computer is not even needed for certain print jobs.  For example, if you have photos on an SD card on your digital camera, you can shove it in the convenient slot and the Interact S605 will recognize it and ask you to print out the pictures.  The same thing that occurs if you have a thumb drive, and if you have non-photo related documents. 

Interface with the printer is very cool as it has a 4 x 3 inch touchscreen.  The screen isn’t as revolutionary as the touchscreen on a certain phone made by Apple, but it is quite nice as it allows for navigation for easy copy and scan procedures.  Ease seems to be the word for this printer as it allows for downloadable apps like a business card reader and others.  It is also good at informing the user what type of printer paper is needed on what types of jobs, and walks you through what you need to do, including loading the printer cartridges. 

This Lexmark Interact S605 is also wireless.  It’s covered by WiFi N which allows for 3 times the coverage and faster transfer speeds than traditional wireless networks.  The wireless setup was relatively simple, but I had problems with the initial setup.  Fortunately, the Lexmark help line was there for me. 

Another thing that makes the Lexmark Interact S605 stand out from the crowd is that you can use the EcoMode for automatic two-sided printing.  They are also designed to use affordable inks and less of it, yet can accomplish crystal clear print jobs. 

In short, the Lexmark Interact S605 is an all around good printer that I would recommend for any home, office, or home office.  I have included a video of my review below, and this printer can be purchased on the Lexmark site for about $199.
