Don't Get The Wrong Printer

You can't go into a printer store without hearing the name Lexmark. This is because Lexmark has been around for a very long time and their line of printers is well renowned. You'll find these printers in stores all over the world and you'll also find that there are many people who happen to own one. If you need a decent monochrome laser printer then feast your eyes on the Lexmark Optra r and Lexmark Optra R Toner. One of the best in laser monochrome printing, it is also quite cheap being only about $200. You'll find that you and just about anyone you know will be able to afford a printer such as this.

The tray that comes standard with it will be able to hold 200-500 sheets easily, and that will be great for a normal work day. Not to mention that will be just perfect for anyone that is just printing from home. The one problem that some people will have with this printer is its lack of multifunction. You won't have the option of faxing or scanning anything. You also won't have any connectivity with digital cameras.

Parallel, Ethernet, And Serial Ports

You will find out that the machine does support networking. As such you'll have no problem connecting to other computers on the network. The problem with this is that you won't have any wireless support whatsoever. What you will have though is Parallel, Ethernet, and Serial so even without the wireless you won't have any problems. Fortunately a lot of offices are still wired, and you'll be able to connect as many computers as you need to. No matter how many computers you connect though, you need to pay attention to the monthly duty cycle.

You'll discover sooner rather than later that toner costs about $120, which isn't really good for a home based operation. If you are running a business however this will be fine. Toner cartridges can last for a very long time, and you can always shake them if they start to fade. So essentially, the price of the cartridge makes it great for business applications but not for home use.

Print Fast

The monthly duty cycle of the Lexmark Optra R is approximately 20, 000 to 49, 999 in a small work setting. This makes it perfect for those in an office who need to print fast. It is not recommended that you push it over the duty cycle however.

It has a lovely white exterior and is capable of printing on just about any sort of paper, including A4 and Envelopes. Because it is a monochrome printer you won't have to worry about purchasing and photo paper for it. Standard paper is very cheap these days, being only about $4-8 dollars per pack.

High Resolution

The printer comes standard with the ability to print fast, though it may not be as fast as some other high end printers. Besides that it can print a great 16 ppm, which is very good for a printer of this price. It also does a resolution of 1200x1200 DPI and that is good. When you think about it, there are many printers out there that are either cheaper or more expensive that don't do nearly that speed or resolution. You'll also find that comparable models from other companies may not have network support.

There are a lot of printers out there and sometimes it is hard to choose among them, but you can always trust Lexmark. They have been around for a very long time and are dedicated to bring the best quality in printers to all of its users. Since Lexmark only specializes in printers and toner, you'll find that they do have the best products. Make sure you give this piece of technology a try. If you are the owner of a small business you are bound to like it.
