68Call It A Dirty Name: The Nationalizing of America

To Democrats, “life” as defined by the Declaration of Independence means everyone is entitled to everything that sustains life including health care.
Fifty-six colonists risked their lives and fortunes to sign that sacred document penned by John Hancock. It said, “…We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
I emphasize, “…endowed by their Creator with…unalienable rights.” They include the Right To Life, but abortion advocates haven’t really signed on to the “life” guarantee because they don’t believe in God. They don’t understand that before this life we lived as male and female spirits. Mortal life begins, as John McCain said, at inception, not after birth.
Life is not a promise endowed by government – but by God. How can we render unto God when we’re too busy rendering unto Caesar?
“Life” is not very important to government when talking about reproduction and babies. But when referring to the Declaration’s very clear and unambiguous statement, government often doesn’t feel restricted in guaranteeing their brand of “life, liberty, and happiness.” In this, it errors badly, greedily overreaching, bending over backwards to broaden government’s role and limiting man’s sacred life-protecting mandate and personal responsibility.
Government has had no trouble condoning the taking away of the life of a child in or outside the womb, but paradoxically it wrongly inserts itself where family and individual rights are sacrosanct. When it tries to guarantee “life” to capable human beings, it repeals man’s unalienable rights to do for himself. This includes the right to natural resources created by our Creator under the God-given injunction, to live “by the sweat of your brow.” For opposition and struggle in all things are necessary to the happiness of man. There can be no joy without sorrow. This means work, which requires exertion to cultivate, farm, and harvest; and to use his own intellect to create, manufacture, market, and sell the products of his mind and hands.
God created this world with all its beauty and bounty
He made the land, the waters, the mountains, and the forest, its minerals, elements and natural resources and potential. From it, man has been inspired of God to create goods, services, inventions, and the bounteous plenty that America offers to the world.
Those who produce in America’s free marketplace – farmers, miners, manufacturers, industrialists, and businessmen – hire people from the planet’s most educated, motivated, talented, and industrious workforce to help them produce at a rate that is the envy of the world. With these freedoms and free market incentives, America leads the world in productivity, production, and standard of living.
Freedom of opportunity is all we ask. Yes, there will be joy and sorrow. But true happiness cannot be reproduced by government in an impossible utopia, Shangri -la or Garden of Eden existence. Man needs to toil in the sun, a chance to succeed or fail without safety nets.

When incentives motivate this mighty miracle we call it private enterprise and capitalism. Material incentives include money and the promise of a better life. Freedom inspires people across the globe to come to America and to try the American dream. Free enterprise enables Americans in their quest to improve their lives – create homes, build houses, obtain education, clothing, cars, and food; and if they choose, not government, to securitize their lives with any number of insurance products from the private sector including auto, fire, homeowner, general liability, life, health insurance and many more.

We have watched the British and French and other nations stumble, hindering and stunting their productivity and standard of living by doing the very thing President Obama and the Democrat Congress are doing – invoking high taxes and nationalizing industries bit by bit until, to survive, firms are forced to pick up and go to friendlier lands.
Witness the exodus from New York. When you add up state, city, and national taxes, New Yorkers pay some of the highest taxes in the world. If Health Care and Cap and Tax are enacted, people living in states like New York could be paying 57 to 60 percent of their income in taxes.
When is enough, enough already? When does a nation stop being capitalistic? When does socialism and communism kicks in?

More people are leaving New York than any other state, population estimates from the U.S. Census show, making it one of America's most stagnant populations. Why? High taxes and fewer jobs. But it’s also happening across the country, primarily in “Blue” states, whose leaders govern with tax and spend mentalities. The Census Bureau ranks New York the eighth-slowest-growing state, behind Massachusetts, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Rhode Island, West Virginia, North Dakota, and Louisiana. The fastest growing states are Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.
New York City and State are losing the bulwark of their population, primarily a generation of young professionals who dislike New York’s high taxes and the high cost of living.
"Basically what you have is a high-cost state that isn't producing a lot of jobs," a senior fellow at the Center for an Urban Future, Joel Kotkin, said.
People are following jobs. The health and energy bill politics of
President Obama will only worsen the plight of these states. In fact, CBO and
FED estimates say positive job creation in America will not kick in for five
more years, and that does not take into account further damage to the economy if Obama's health plan passes.
To do for a person what he should be doing for himself is demeaning and undercuts his natural desire to succeed
For those who feel they have been left behind due to discrimination, Congress passed a law called Affirmative Action, a law that was supposed to have been temporary, but that helped blacks and other minorities for almost five decades who allegedly were not capable of winning good jobs in the workplace – a chance for Blacks and Latinos to catch up to the Caucasian race in education and jobs.
Today, due to immigration there is no majority race in Hawaii, Houston, New York City and Southern California. Blacks and Hispanics, East Asians and South Asians will account for a majority of the U.S. population by the year 2042, according to Bill Clinton. Among Americans under the age of 18, this shift is projected to take place in 2023, which means that every child born in the United States from here on out will belong to the first post-white generation. It could also mean the end of Affirmative Action as we know it.
Many Americans, including prominent people of color, believe the need for the Affirmative Action is long past, and that virtually everyone today who wants to excel, except in rare cases, has the same opportunity as Whites to go to college, learn a profession, trade or skill, and find gainful employment; and they believe that there are still some who grudgingly hold onto affirmative action as a crutch at their own peril because it is demeaning and tends to reduce or eliminate man’s innate strengths and potential to survive on what God gave him.
Is it any wonder that many Americans oppose any effort by government to supplant God’s own plan of happiness for man, that is to fend for himself and thereby become strong and productive using his God-given talents, genius, body, and mind rather than relying on the body politic to ensure a man’s health care, welfare, education, and pay grade.
The leveling of the country’s workers was Obama’s idea, one that is sure to further bankrupt this country by driving good jobs from America to countries with lower taxes.
It has been shown to weaken countries economically and eventually they must repeal confiscatory tax policies to compete and provide jobs for their people. If the CBO and the FED both agree that this tax policy will mean that we won’t turn the jobless picture around for five years, not even taking into account more taxes for Health Care and Cap and Tax, it makes absolutely no sense to go down that road.
What's Next After Health Care?
A growing number of Americans believe that a despotic government will not stop with health care. That battle won, it will turn its efforts to guaranteeing government-funded food, housing, transportation, and raiment.
To guarantee these life-sustaining items, government must own the means of production. Due to the “opportunity” of the recent recession, the Obama Administration has needlessly poured trillions of dollars – our grandchildren’s money – into banks, car companies, and insurers, and very little into small businesses which create most of the jobs.
If job creation was their plan, they missed the mark. What more can Washington control?
An Orwellian chill comes down my spine. It means thought control and a further rape of our Bill of Rights: controlling or eliminating freedom of speech and religion, increased fraud and dishonesty in voting and during the political process, a bigger and stronger ACORN, more manipulation of who we can vote for and how long they can serve, the friends we can keep, the clubs we belong to, states’ rights and further control of technology, farming, mining, land, waterways, recreation, the air we breath, what kinds of houses we can build, what we eat, how often we can flush the toilet, and how we can travel and how often. In fact, all athletic contests, including baseball and football, will be disallowed because of the massive amounts of breathing we do and the carbons we emit.
The U.S. is headed toward socialism and the terrible after affects – ownership of all means of production through bailouts or confiscation. President Obama has been careful not to call this wholesale takeover of companies and production a dirty name, the nationalizing of America, but that’s exactly what it is. He will make our people so poor that an appeal to Washington will be the only thing left to pay the rent and put food on the table. This government now owns 61 percent of General Motors, 36 percent of CitiBank and 80 percent of AIG.
We The People own 36 percent of Citibank, but the government is already involved in Citi:
· Most of Citibank’s deposits are guaranteed by the FDIC. Which means that when you deposit money at Citibank, you’re really lending it to the government, which is lending the money back to Citibank. Citi is mostly doing the paperwork.
· Citi makes loans with those deposits. Who do they loan to? Mortgages and government bonds make up a huge chunk of the portfolios of many banks, and, once again, those are loans to the government.
· Government regulations control how much they can borrow, how much they can lend, what they can lend to, where they can lend, what kinds of loans they can resell, and who they can deal with. The government has veto power over everything Citibank does.
Lest you think GM runs itself, Barak Obama chose its new president and board of directors. Washington is mandating how many dealerships GM can close. Micromanaging GM means big state Democrats are insisting that surviving dealerships are those in their districts, regardless of profitability. By playing politics, Washington guarantees GM’s demise and the loss of our money.
I ask that all Americans phone and fax their Senators and Representatives. Insist that they vote against Cap and Trade, which the House has already passed. Insist that both House and Senate members say no to government health care legislation.
Don’t let them tell you Obama’s health care will cost us less because Medicare costs are less. It’s a lie. Read “Medicare Costs Are Higher, Not Lower Than For Private Insurers”, an article by Robert A. Book, PhD, published by the Heritage Foundation:
“On a per-person basis, Medicare's administrative costs are actually higher than those of private insurance--this despite the fact that private insurance companies do incur several categories of costs that do not apply to Medicare. If recent cost history is any guide, switching the more than 200 million Americans with private insurance to a public plan will not save money but will actually increase health care administrative costs by several billion dollars.”
Tell your congressmen that voting for Obama’s health plan is counter to the will of the people. Only the liberals want the runaway spending to continue, and according to a recent Rasmussen poll, liberals comprise only 21 percent of Americans. Tell your representative to either vote against such wasteful bills, or don’t come back to your state over recess because they won’t get re-elected.

So, if you are going to talk about "life" and you are going to talk about "liberty" why not talk about the "seperation of church and state" ?

But I'm really saddened about the amount of secularization that is occurring in America -- and the secularization of Europe that has already happened. In my church we don't preach politics over the pulpit...and I suppose that's true in yours as well. Thanks for the comment, Don
I think you have a lot of good points. I think you are barking up the wrong tree on the abortion issue especially since you probably support capital punishment? The New York example is great, and funny when you consider that they have also exported hundreds of thousands of homeless people to other states at the cost of tens of millions! Secularization? Really? This country does not belong to christians. All religious beliefs are welcome and with the exception of the liberals only rhetoric which threatens the United States security and freedom is NOT tolerated. Affirmative action is the one thing that has kept minorities down and really kept racism alive in this country. It is long overdue for elimination. I for one could care less what color or how many of every color there are. If we can agree to put our nation back on top it doesn't matter. The sooner we get rid of the minority/majority race concept the better. You are on point about banks, bailouts and healthcare.

Nice article Don. There are those who will just not see but continue to fall into the abyss. As has been said before there are none so blind as he who will not see. As for those that believe that life begins at birth, just read the first chapter of Luke, you know in the New Testament for the Lord's point of view. And His view is all that matters. Have you not figured it out yet that you are under His control? As far as the nation not being a Christian nation, we were established on Christian principles. If you do not believe me check it out. If my history serves me right, not one of the 56 men who Don mentioned were Muslim. The Constitution, even though set up by Christians, was intended to keep the the agency intact for all men, regardless of race, color or creed. Man's now somewhat warped view of the separation of church and state is not what the founding fathers said or had in mind. They did not want the tyrannical reign of past kings like Henry VIII or King George which interfered with own personal rights. I have always said there is a cost to everything but our current administration wants everyone to ignore all cost and turn our lives over to them with no questions asked. Charity is not a government forced agenda but comes from the heart and from your neighbor, religious and community organizations. But big government wants to control everything. This local control, by the way which we should be actively involved in, helps to eliminate fraud and unrighteous dominion as well as help to control those that are self-serving. I have heard some say that it is the governments job to make sure all is taken care of. No! No! NO! It is the Federal governments job to help us do things we cannot do for ourselves, like the military, the borders and others but we can see how they are doing and now they want to control the rest of our lives. It is not about helping but it is about controlling.
