Doctor or Lawyer

Okay, the bane of my existance. My future career. I have to pick between becoming a doctor or lawyer. Well not so much a lawyer, but more of a barrister, all for the CPS though.

So anyway, I have spread myself amazingly thin the last couple of years in college. 5 A Levels, havn't been pretty. And none of them even the slightest easy, not like my GCSE options. Gone are the good old days. So no I picked 5, nd like the fool I am I decided on: chemistry, biology, law, history and english lang & lit.

So now comes the hard part, choosing what I am going to spend the rest of my life doing. A doctor seems so great, all the helping people, saving lives, when possible I am an idealist but not ignorant. We do lose some. But anyway, that would be perfect, I'm thinking of surgeon, cardologist or neurologist. Great areas. But then comes the downsides. Becoming a doctor is extremly hard work, I have to work and study. Which is the same as a lawyer but i get some reprive, since I don't do a residancy till my 2nd to 3rd year of uni. But I would be earner, bare minimums but still money is money, alot of which is needed in this day and age. But still long hours, and I'm hoping some day for a family. That wouldn't be too good. I wouldn't really have much time.

But then as a CPS, I could do alot of good, not in the same way. But maybe help people feel a bit safer, be the person who finally stands up for the victim instead of all this about the offenders human rights. Well boo hoo! you did the crime now you have to pay the time. Thats your problem, so stop banging on about your human rights, when you obviously have no regard for everyone else's. But then comes this moral decision, that maybe one day, theres a guy who can't pay his taxes because he has to feed his family, and they expect me to put him in prison for that. I somehow don't think thats justice. What would anyone else do, feed their children or let them starve to pay a government who is basically becoming slightly greedy. I know what I would choose, and its not feeding the already plump members of parliment!

So they are my choices, do I go with the one that means I help people but will have no time for a family or do I become the one who may one day have to punish a good person for something that I would have done myself?

Everyone likes doctors, not so many like lawyers/barristers. But that is basically hateof a sterotype. Could I be the one to break that tradition?

What would you choose?
