Think about your health.
Think about your health.

What about your health, sir?

If you have ever applied for life insurance in Canada, it's quite possible you have undergone some kind of medical tests.

It depends on your age and the coverage you are asking. Generally - the higher, the more detailed tests should you undergo. The bottom line is usually $250 000 and the age of 50. Basic step is just simple sample of urine, or similar quick check. As the coverage rises, insurance company may ask for medical exam, blood work and an ECG. Insurance companies may also attempt to acertain a client's risk by obtaining an Attending Physician Statement from the family doctor and/or a specialist. This does not require any work on the client's part. The insurance company pays the doctor directly to complete the documentation. Once the insurance company collects this information they forward it to an underwriter to make the decision.

Why to cooperate? If you proove being in a good health condition, you can get substantial bonus - about thirty percents off!

And if your results are not so excellent?

There's always possibility to change it. First and most important step - stop smoking! Smoking is considered as a big disadvantage by all insurance companies. Reduce your weight - it's almost so unpopular and harmful as smoking! And it's connected with cholesterol lowering. And finally: fight your blood pressure! You don't have to start with pills immediately - just ask some diet expert, what to change.

And remember - you are not doing it for your insurance or insurance companies. You are doing it for you!
