Life is Like a Hub Score
51Life and the Hub Score
Struggling through life
Bob and Mary get together after some romantic candle light dinner, or after hooking up at the local bar and nine months later they are blessed with a miracle! This 6lb, 5 and a half ounce bundle of joy is crying in their arms. Life's wonderful with this little baby in their arms, or is it?
This adorable baby begins to get older and eventually he is weaned off his mother’s breast milk. At first he'll eat any kind of food that is put in front of him. He even loves a small sampling of crab legs at the local Red Lobster.
As the little one gets older, suddenly the food samplings that were tasty just a month ago don't smell or taste very good. Eventually he gets to the point to where the only thing he'll eat is chicken or hot dogs!
Now, mom and dad begin to wonder what on earth has changed and why is this child so darn picky? Well the good news is that this sudden pickiness is minor compared to what is in store later in this child's life.
As the child gets old enough, he starts kindergarten. His first few years in school aren't to bad, actually life at this point is pretty simple. There are no major catastrophes as of yet. The little boy is "keeping up with the Jones" so to speak. Every year there are milestones to make note of. The child grows and learns, slowly becoming a part of society.
Meaning of Life
What does this all have to do with a Hub Score?
Right now you are probably wondering, "What does all this have to do with a silly Hub Score" aren't you?
I've noticed since the day I became an active participant of the wonderful world of writing hubs, my score has gone anywhere from a 60 something all the way up to a 94. It seems there's no good reason for the score going up and then all of a sudden, tumbling down. There are good reasons for this however, mainly it has to do with the structure of your hub and how the public views your information in the way of comments and etc.
I thought about this the other night and that is exactly how our lives are. One minute we're on top of the world, and the next minute something unforeseen happens and we plummet to the ground. I realize now that all this is good! What I mean by that is that our lives are one big learning curve and it’s ok if we make mistakes. Our mistakes are what gives us depth and the knowledge we need in order to help others. So many people have been right where you are now, and most will gladly share a story or two. It's the stories that come without a price that are most valuable. The advice that has a price tag normally has an ulterior motive which usually ends up in another learning experience!
The best advice I can give, is to take each day and learn as much as you can. Take the information you gained and plug it into your computer that science calls a brain. Continue on your journey and for Gods sake, treat everyone with respect and love!
At the end of it all, someone, somewhere will say when they hear your name, "I remember that guy, he's the one that..."
