The evil's gone away once more

But the demons still remain

A niggling hurtful memory

In the confines of my brain

They wait for signs of weakness

To sneak in round the back

To make my outlook bleak again

And paint my whole world black

But in the past I'd let them

Showing no fight or resistance

Tired and weak defeated from

Their overpowering persistence

That was many moons ago

So many things have come to be

Now I tell them all to Fuck Off

And get the hell away from me.

The change came when I took hold

Of the steering wheel of my life and soul

The journey now is smoother

And the choices are my own

Smiling comes so easily

Laughter has no price to pay

Reduced procrastinating patterns

As I try to seize the day
